I rushed Mean Girls last Wednesday, and kept my eye on the Angels line. There were maybe 5-8 people there by 9am last Wednesday. Didn't seem to get much longer as the hour went on! If you want to guarantee, I'd suggest an 8am arrival on a Wednesday.
I went by today. There have not stopped doing rush. That was incorrect information.
They have stopped Friday - Sunday rush. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays evenings there might be seats still. The man at the box office foresees rush ending over the next month, after Tony nominations. He says if someone is first to the box office, for a Wednesday evening rush, there's a better chance than not. However, there are n
Thanks for all this info! I need clarification too - was it just on certain days they don't hold a rush? I might stop by the box office tomorrow on my lunch break to get the full info.
I imagine that Patti Murin is a lock, while Caissie Levy is not for a Best Actress nomination. Truthfully, she felt like more a supporting role in the show.
I'm pulling for Tina Landau to win for Spongebob. I'd love to see Ethan Slater nominated as well.
Once on this Island had a lot of early buzz, but these lavish and large revivals might eclipse it. I would've enjoyed seeing some of the supporting cast getting nods as well (Lea, Alex, Merle, etc.).
I rushed today. The first person was there at 7am. Everyone else trickled in after 8am. The line probably only went 20-30 people deep. I think everyone got seats as it was a 2 show day. Mine are row J partial view. I'm excited to see the cast tonight!
If you want to go somewhere very close to the theater, there's a bunch of more touristy places like Carmine's (Italian food), Junior's (American classic), and Sardi's (a theatre district staple), which are all on the same block. John's Pizzeria is good too. Even Tony Di Napoli's is a good Italian alternative to Carmine's which has longer wait times.
Nearby, one block over in Hell's Kitchen, there are tons of sushi, Italian, burger, etc. restaurants.
I saw the show in Cleveland last night. I had understudies for Roger and Mimi. Roger was played by Trevor Bunce and he was incredible. I loved Jasmine Easler as Joanne, too.
For lovers of Rent, this was a shot of nostalgia and adrenaline. It's identical to the original production, with maybe some new choreo at times. There is nothing like seeing this show live, and seeing how it still is so powerful and beautiful. CLE is having the lottery too which is nice.
