She's also on a CBS show, so that was probably a key factor as well.
If the ticket prices were comparable, I might say Broadway simply because the RR is so much smaller than a lot of touring houses. (Have no idea about Toronto theaters, however.) So I could possibly see going if it were a better seat location, and if prices were similar. But since you're talking rear mezz AND and inflated price, definitely wait for the tour. With the time frame you have in mind, there's no telling what either cast will be like, so might as well see it for a reason
For anyone still looking, they just released within the last hour a slew of $195 tickets in the Orchestra for multiple dates, including weekends. I just checked, and there were seats in Row Q, P, R, S and farther back, all on Saturday nights in September and October.
xxdrewboy85xx, did your friend request hard tickets, or online ones? Because depending on the answer, he may not have a choice between TM and Stubhub. I sold a pair of Chicago Hamilton tickets recently, and when I went to list them on Stubhub, I received a message saying they'd be checking my account before approving the listing. (I'm assuming to make sure I wasn't a serial reseller who sold large blocks of tickets.) Additionally, I was told that only hard, paper tickets
Wasn't there a poster a while back who wrote about seeing the performance that was filmed, and overhearing someone upset there was an replacement listed for King George - Jonathan Groff!? Now that would have been amusing as far as cast disappointments.
I normally don't keep Playbills, but the Shuffle Along one with the insert was so lovely, and I'd waited so long to see Hamilton, I kept these from my trip home in June. In the end though, I don't collect them and won't be doing anything with them, so they're just sitting in an envelope. Rather than throw them right away, thought I'd see if anyone wants one or both!
Bummed because I bought orchestra seats for marathon weekend, but have canceled my trip due to an injury. I considered going anyway, but to pay airfare and extra high hotel costs when I can't run just didn't seem smart. So I deferred my race registration and am going to sell my tickets instead since I've seen the show in NY and will doing so again next week.
One thing I discovered is that Stubhub is being super strict about selling Chicago Hamilton tickets. When I tried to
Well said, 10086sunset! One of the tickets I bought for Hamilton was a direct result of a post here sharing tickets had opened up for a specific date. It's always great when theater lovers can help other theater lovers out!
For anyone going, be sure and leave yourself plenty of time to get to the theater. Luckily it's in the afternoon, but that's the same day as the NYC Marathon!
"no it was him, the theater guy we talked to confirmed that they go an email from a man trying to join the cancellation line on friday. he was the only one who tried to.
So how does that make it all his fault? Even if he was a jerk, he complained via email, which he's allowed to do. The theater could have ignored him or dealt with him separately, or any of a number of ways. The point is they chose to respond in a way you didn't agree with or like. (Not s
See, and this is where I lose all sympathy, because you continue to insist on blaming Jeremy, for something the Richard Rodgers staff decided to do. (Or perhaps you didn't read my other reply.) The fact is, he had as much right to complain about the self-created unofficial rules not being fair as you did to insist everyone else should follow them. And ultimately it's up to the staff at the theater to do what they want anyway as that's all they were - self-policing rules with no re
I can understand feeling upset if the Richard Rodgers staff did tell everyone to come back at 5:30 and then disregarded that. Totally within their right and there are no set rules, but still a bummer given you'd been waiting. I don't understand, however, being upset with or blaming, the random folks that did get in, or even "Jeremy" for that matter. You said even after explaining to them, that the folks who'd just shown up (not necessarily even knowing what to
Now that the seat map is up again, I broke down and purchased two limited view seats in the side orchestra, Row L. I'm only in town during marathon weekend, so didn't have the benefit of date flexibility.
I've seen the show, and have tickets for an upcoming date in NY, so was going to give these to family members who'll also be in Chicago. Does anyone know bad the sightlines are from the extreme sides of the orchestra, Row L? (I know it can vary depending
Well after 30 minutes of waiting for the tickets in my cart to be secured, I got bumped off. Seat map is now off, so waiting to see if I can still get anything for the date I want.
I got in once I refreshed after the site went down. Have three orchestra seats in my cart for marathon weekend, but it's been spinning and verifying for the last 15 minutes, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
