Plus, they don’t have to pay for sets or development or any of that. And if the Longacre was gonna sit empty anyway, I think it’s not the stupidest idea. Also, another option for families that’s not Disney (and Disney prices) is always welcome. "
Does anyone know if Disney is involved with this at al

This trailer played before the Lion King today and being in a room with so many people watching it together is an experience.
There were laughs and gasps but a general sense of shocked confusion. I can't wait to watch it unfold!

I cannot wait for them to remove that blue monstrosity from the exterior of the theatre.

It’s skyrocketed to my second favorite of the year behind Hadestown and just ahead of The Prom. Meeting Glenn was the icing on the cake."
Did the image of Glenn Close being in the cast of Ain't Too Proud flash through anyone else's head?

Should SIX transfer? Dec 19

I had a chance to listen to the cast recording and the music is very catchy! Definitely a very pop-y sound. The songs themselves are also filled with some good with if you've heard the stories of the "six" before.
I don't know if this would do well in a Broadway space as it might get drowned out, but somewhere off-Broadway could be a lot of fun!

PattyO'Furniture, I think that was one of the most eloquently said things in a long time here and it speaks perfectly to what those of us on the sidelines enjoy about this site.
It's been an interesting time following along with everything, and I do hope it all works out in the end so that the longtime posters can come back and so that we as a BWW community don't lose any support that we have left.

Hey everyone this is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I'm working on a case study for this site and I was wondering if anyone could direct me to any interesting books, journals or articles about the history of this theatre (or others from around the same time). Also if anyone knows where to find any of the official proposals/plans for this latest redevelopment that would be swell too
Jay joining the show is fantastic news and casting! I wonder how long he plans to stay? I'd like to make it out to see him

From the moment that I walked into the Imperial Theatre last March, the game had been changed for me on so many different levels.
The Great Comet just blew up whatever definition of theatre that I had in my mind.
What source material would never work as a musical? Dec 18

Its not really fair to say that something would never work as a musical. It all depends on how it would be framed during the show. Some of the most unconventional topics from 9/11 to War and Peace to the Wife of an Argentinian President have been covered.
Some topics may of course be trickier to musicalize, but never work would be a stretch.
Ok but how cool would it be if they set up 360° cameras at various spaces in the theatre and filmed it that way? It could help capture the originality and immersive aspect of the production
