Was there this evening. She was extremely grounded and looked very relaxed in the role. Her singing was the slightest bit weak... She is a great singer don't get me wrong but I know if a few performances she will have it down pat. Her Sonya Alone was chilling and deeply moving. By the end I had goosebumps. What a great debut to a talented musician!
I'm thrilled for Abby! Saw her twice on today was blown away. Im just wondering how long it will be until Chilina will come back. Viewing the promo material with Chilina did not entice me to see the show in NY at all, I'd rather they find someone new.
I am eager to see when Kennedy leaves. From the press clips, I wasn't thrilled with her. I have only seen the tour and would love if Abby would come replace for Chilina.
Carmen has a charisma and a certain "something" that I only see in a handful of performers. I am so glad she is finally being recognized in new material on the great white way -- even though it may not be as good as she is. I saw her in Wicked several years ago and felt she made the show more important and substantial than it would have been with another actress. I have recently downloaded the L.A. Theatre Works production of AOC and loved it. I had the pleasure of seeing it as well there. I am wondering if anyone knew or had the actual music used in the play... it's chilling and really quite interesting. I know it's a long shot but anyone who has any info, I'd greatly appreciate it.
