I saw Mormon and Evan Hansen on Wednesday, my first two show day. I've also seen Mean Girls and Waitress... for what it's worth I prefer Mormon or Hansen over those two.
I saw it last night, Orchestra seats O 24-26. Loved the show, but I definitely consider the seats obstructed and they were not sold as such. I wouldn't say it took away from the performance, but I also probably wouldn't have bought the tickets had I known. The biggest disappointment was that I could not see Aaron when Rolling in the Deep started at the end of the second act... he was just too far right. However, most of the action did take place center.
I think it's worth it. I spent $163 for first row in upper balcony in Baltimore.
I don't think it's that they weren't selling, it's just that it didn't sell out through the lottery presale system. I think they are selling out as the shows get closer.
I do agree, though, that $300 is pretty steep for here.
Anything different about seeing a show during previews? Jan 16

So I posted yesterday about going to see In the Heights and then I found out about the 50% discount being offered from Feb 14-March 8. I see there are tickets available for March 8, the night before the official opening available.
Is there anything about seeing a show during previews that makes it different from seeing it during a "regular" run?
I know that by the nature of previews, they are still working out kinks....But it's not like I'm going to be seeing a different cast
I am definitely going to see it!!!!! I just hope I didn't wait too late!

There are numerous groups near me that always organize day trips to see shows since I am relatively close by. I saw numerous shows that way with my grandmother when I was a kid/teenager. She's not able to travel anymore, so whenever she hears of these trips she always offers to "send" me. This would be the first time I would take her up on the offer.
I just read that the show is produced by Seller.. It seems like everything he touches turns to gold....
Question about In the Heights Jan 15

I was given the opportunity to have an expenses paid trip to see In the Heights a few weeks after it opens.
I've read a litte bit about it, and I'm kind of ambivalent... I used to be an avid theatre goer, but then life gets in the way, and I haven't been "in the know" for a couple of years...
Is this show supposed to be the next best thing? What's the buzz going around about it???

I just saw the show in Baltimore, and I agree with the previous two posters. The only negative is that the Hippodrome is about 2000 seats, and I do think the show got a little bit lost. I kept thinking to myself, this is probably sooo much better when there are only 800 people in the theatre. It was hard to "connect" to the puppets, as I couldn't really see them.
I just asked the same question and then read that the money donated during goes to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, so y

I didn't notice any phone numbers (not that I would have been able to see), but during the line when they say, how much did we get, they "pulled out" a Baltimore Ravens ticket stub... It was cute and got a good laugh, considering the pitiful season they had this year. What do they say in NY?

Ahhhh! I have my answer. I was flipping through the Playbill and in very small writing it says... "Any donation received during this performance will be given to Broadway Cares/EFA."
So for the rest of you that were also wondering, there you go!
Stupid question about Avenue Q Dec 17

I saw the touring cast of Avenue Q last night in Baltimore. I have a question about "The Money Song." When the actors came into the audience a good amount of people passed down dollars to put in the actor's hats. Does anyone know where the money goes? I thought maybe Broadway Cares...but I don't know if that applies to the touring cast....
