Thank you for taking the time to copy/paste ALL of those excerpts. That must have taken a good amount of time to apparently prove the rest of us wrong...
... the few of us on this thread who enjoyed it, who actually SAW it. We are just stating our opinions.
I saw it. The cast did a great job. Tomei was very good in the role..
The pre-set was that of a brick apartment complex high rise with a window. At the top of the show it rotated to reveal the apartment.
**SPOILERS BELOW**
The character spends a great deal of play preparing for the robbery and assault that is about to threaten her and she did a superb job maneuvering around the set of the apartment. I will never forget the image of her crawling along the

This show was superb. All 110 minutes flew by and progressed beautifully. Campy but serious, grounded yet theatrical. I loved it. The cast had wonderful chemistry.
My second time since seeing Peters and Garner in late February. A beautiful performance today, by all involved. The tears streaming down her face during the Parade number is something I will never forget. Garber evolved significantly in the months past. Many standing ovations. Just glorious. The entire orchestra stood during the Dolly number, as intermittent standing ovations broke out.

This is kind of an old thread but could you elaborate? I'm seeing the show later this month and I'm curious what people think of Thom Sesma, Sally Ann Triplett, etc. From what I can find on the internet, Sesma has quite a bit of experience playing Sweeney and both have gushed about loving working with each other--seems like a recipe for great chemi
It looks like “Broadway Barks” is auctioning off several items and jewelry pieces from Dolly on Ebay.
Random thought: I know that any prop or costume piece used on the stage is most likely replicated in case something breaks, etc ... does any know if they order in bulk?
I’m just curious, seeing that multiple of the same Dolly jewelry pieces have been auctioned after every performance and now online. It seems like a lot of trouble to keep grabbin
That happened to me...just keep clicking the buy button for the seat you selected...it will go through.
I refreshed about 5 times or more.
Got my seat for the last performance (We hope....)
Rows A-E in the Mezz are all $229; center, right and left.... then $189 and $169 thereafter.
There were large sections of the orchestra and mezz not available (I was on right at 10am) .. they have definitely pulled seats, reserved for certain people invited, most likely.
All DOLLY albums are wonderful in their own way. I agree, Bette's album often lacks the energy and natural impulse that was seen/heard on the stage -- in certain spots. You could argue that a cast recording is not the same as live performance in full swing, however, the other Dolly recordings prove that energy can be carried through a microphone. That said: I listen to the Bette cast every day.
The Bailey/Calloway recording is a treasure to have as it was recorded
I saw the show last evening. I truly enjoyed myself. The play - as written- is an intriguing look at the themes in which the playwright is asking us to explore. It's set in the late 70's/ early 80's (approximately) but I did not feel it was "out dated" or "slow" due to this. The core thematic elements of the story are relevant and timeless, and we watch the relationships evolve (and unravel) due to the interpersonal obstacles they face.<
