Does anyone else find it extremely confusing when a show is considered a NY Times Critic's Pick but the review is not a rave or only mostly positive? What are the politics behind that I wonder.
I think casting someone from "RuPaul's Drag Race" as Angel is an inspired choice and a good move in terms of publicity but...Valentina?
I'm also a bit puzzled by Jordan Fisher as Mark.
2011-2012 Plays May 18

Was this season a really good season for plays or is it just because there are so many that I want to see?
GODSPELL Digital New Cast Recording Release Date? Jan 3
2012, 03:03:32 PM
So growing up I was OBSESSED with Godspell. I have a scrapbook of sorts that could be a director’s prompt book for the show. Seriously.
So here are my thoughts on the new cast album.
1. Tower of Babble
One of my favorite songs. Strange but true. I’m assuming this number is all concept in this production because by itself I hated it!
Rocky Horror 2000 Souvenier Program? Sep 8
2011, 10:28:13 PM
They do, MichaelBennet. That's where I got mine in 2007. There were a few left. It's really a great souvenir program.
I'm not crazy about the poster. It's not bad but it's not doing anything for me.
Hunter Parrish is Jesus in GODSPELL Aug 10
2011, 01:25:30 PM
I kind of want to see this now. Godspell was my first musical and I was more than obsessed with it when I was a teen. Adding Hunter Parrish to the mix is like the cherry on top of a sundae.
Unnecessary and Cerveris is a fine actor. Just because he played Hedwig doesn't mean a thing.
Plays with a youthful cast Jul 27
2011, 09:41:38 PM The Shape of Things by Neil LaBute. The characters are in their early to mid 20's.
Red Light Winter by Adam Rapp. The characters are 30, 30ish and 25.
Both plays have small casts (3-4 people) and both are dramas. They're both pretty dark too actually. Heh.
Jerusalem or Follies? Jul 24
2011, 10:53:20 PM
I saw Follies at the Kennedy Center and it really is an amazing production. I'm so happy it's going to be on Broadway. At the same time, I really enjoyed Jerusalem so it really depends upon your own personal tastes in theatre.
Shows that have won best musical but were not particularly good? Jul 2
2011, 02:37:16 PM
OK. Two Gentlemen of Verona. This show is completely a product of its time. I've been in it. It's fun but has some of the worst lyrics of all time. This is the show that beat Follies.
