FYI, this was completely sold out not as of yesterday, but a bunch of seats on the far edges just opened up for almost every performance. I snagged a few to go with friends in late March.
The dream ballet should be changed too. SAWOklahomawas my first production, and I had no idea what was going on during the dream ballet.
Lastly, I hope they change the intermission food recipes. The chili was too spicy for me."
I had a long discussion last night with a friend about this production’s dream ballet, and while I thought it beautiful and a thrilling dance piece, I agree that it makes very little&nbs

I’m genuinely curious how this is different from a traditional production of Oklahoma. Is it sexually explicit? How is it dark?"
I'd say that it takes a lot of the disturbing stuff that is sitting right there in the show as subtext and makes those things very, very explicit te
Thanks for bringing up The Music Man; the comparison had never occurred to me and is a fantastic challenge to my thoughts on Evan Hansen. I unabashedly love The Music Man (partly for the show, partly because it's the first musical I was ever in), and you're right that there are a lot of parallels in Evan Hansen, which I had a lot of problems with. I've thought about it for a few hours, and I think there are a few reasons why TMM works for me but DEH d

But other than that...a kid in Evan's situation really doesn't need punishment. They need HELP and support to start feeling better in a way that
Let me second jonlow09. While it was an enjoyable night of theater and Ben Platt's performance was breathtaking, the show itself is probably the most profoundly immoral show I've seen in a very long time. Frankly, Evan acts like a sociopath: he lies to a grieving family and uses a girl's dead brother to seduce her. The (admittedly super uplifting) songs hide what is truly psychopathic behavior.
Then, at the end of the show, not only does Evan avoid p
Given how recently Jordan Fisher joined the cast, I wonder if it's possible that he's leaving to join the SF/LA/tour cast. They have his last day on Broadway as March 5th, and the first SF preview is March 10th. That seems tight to me, but I know nothing about how professional tours are rehearsed. Is it possible that they rehearse with the understudy until March 5th, and then Fisher plugs in to the production on the 6th for dress rehearsals and previews?
CABARET - A Few Questions Apr 18

Does anyone know what the view is like from the obstructed bar rail seats on the sides (br 1-12)? I'm looking at the week before Memorial Day, and those are essentially the only seats available (given that I don't want to pay $2,500 for a VIP membership).

Can anyone who has seen the show from the Bar Rail Obstructed seats along the sides (BR 1- comment on the view? I'm interested in seeing the show when I come in May, but all of the orchestra seats on the days I'm looking are either obstructed or require a $2,500 VIP contribution. Thanks in advance!
