Best: The Light In The Piazza reunion concert a couple of weeks ago Hamilton Cynthia Erivo in The Color Purple Kelli O'Hara any time I see her on stage
Worst A local production of The Nutcracker around Christmas time. It was painful to watch.
I know this has been discussed and it seems not very likely, but I wonder if Roundabout will reconsider recording an album. I'd love to have a recording with the current cast.
My fiancé propose to me on a Broadway stage last may. :) It was actually very intimate, because we're friends with an actor, so we went backstage after the show was done and he took me on the stage after everyone had left. It was just us, the ghost light, and our friend filming (though I discovered he was there later!). I don't know if I'd have liked a public proposal with all the audience still there.
I also don't live in NYC but in Italy. I saw the show last week with normal-priced tickets. How? I bought them in August when they were just put on sale. I visit this board regularly and know how crazy Hamilton tickets have gotten, so I just bought them a long time in advance.
If I were you, I'd start saving for some hyper-priced tickets. Missing this show would be a shame.
I've loved both The Color Purple and She Loves Me- very different but both so good. Shuffle Along was good but slightly less good in the book in my opinion, but I went to see Audra live and it was totally worth it. I also saw Hamilton, but I understand how that might not be in your list (I had the tickets since August). As far as plays, I'd suggest The Humans or Eclipsed.
My friend sold two rear mezz on Ticketmaster for $600 each, so you might have a chance at getting most of your money back. Have you told your friend about it though? I'd ditch almost everything to go see Hamilton again.
I'm not throwing anything in anyone's face. I just meant that there are for sure people who are not flying across the Atlantic to be there, and might just not care that much about their comp tickets, so some people might be lucky enough to score some of those seats. That's all I meant. I rarely get to see anything, living in Italy, I don't have those many opportunities to throw anything in anyone's face. The way you choose to read my post is completely personal t
Can't literally wait to be there next Monday. LITP is my favorite musical.
There might be some cancellation line tickets. We're going thanks to Matt Morrison, who got us comps, so I assume more people will have comps just like us. Some might not show up, so you might be lucky.
Thank you for that! Unfortunately we're going this upcoming weekend. My bad, I didn't think it'd be sold out this early in previews. I think we'll try The Color Purple. All our other slots are already occupied (Hamilton, She Loves Me, Shuffle Along). Thank you though!
This is very disappointing. I know it's selling very well, but I was expecting some sort of rush/lottery. Guess I'll see something else on my one free slot in my trip.
I think in general, marriages are a lot of work and commitment, and you find your own balance. I'm an ER doc, my hours are insane, I'm glad I'm marrying someone with more "stable" hours. We make it work, just like anyone else. And as someone pointed out, once they're in the show, performers only work a couple of hours a day.
My fiancé and I will be there on the same weekend as you.
We're seeing: She Loves Me on 4/1 night, Shuffle Along on 4/2 mat, Hamilton on 4/2 evening. I'd like to try Waitress for 4/3 matinee, but there are only premium seats left, so I want to see if they do rush and how. I wasn't aware that Color Purple has a Sunday evening show, but I think we might just do that! We also have the Light In The Piazza reunion concert on Monday night, 4/4. Very ex
