Sadly, I had a similar experience 3 weeks ago. Phantom is one of my guilty pleasures and I've seen it a handful of times. I forced my boyfriend to go see it because he hadn't seen it before and it was extremely disappointing. From the very first lines at the auction through the rest of the show the actors seemed bored and dull. He wanted to leave at intermission, but we stayed through. I've never seen so many actors phoning it in.
Socha's performance was by far a highlight of the show for me. Her "Changing My Major" is one of my all time favorite theatre moments. I'm just crossing my fingers she's not completely omitted from the new album. Skeggs is great but man do I miss Alexandra Socha.

Are the Ghost lottery seats center or side? May 19

My lottery seat was to the side but definitely wasn't an obstructed view. Nice view, but it was right in front of the speaker and I felt like my ears were bleeding.

There were around 30 people at 9 am today. I'd get there at least 2 hours early since it's spring break and all. Guy in the box office said they sold out quickly.

My Oh My- That video was one of my favorites on youtube. I wish I had downloaded it while it was still up. I search for it every now and then in hopes it will appear. I especially loved John Raitt and Patrick Wilson singing together.
It's such a shame there's not more documentation of this beautiful production for us youngsters.
'Not a Day Goes By?' Nov 12

I don't have my recording with me, but from what I can hear on iTunes, it sounds like they sing the happier version together (at the wedding?), and then he sings the angry version by himself earlier in the show (later in the plot).
"Not a Day Goes By?" Nov 12

In the original cast recording, "Not a Day Goes By" is sung by a male. In this original version of the show was it sung by Frank instead of Beth? I can only find a synopsis of the current revised version, and can't find any context of a male singing it. Can anyone fill me in on the synopsis that includes a man singing it instead of Beth?
