I won the Kinky Boots lottery and go my ticket through Ticketmaster without an issue. Maybe I got it before the system went down. I'm hoping this isn't an issue for me.

I saw it in Atlanta, and yes you are exactly right. It felt completely pretentious and altogether contrived. I don't see how it could possibly do well on Broadway,
I saw it in Philly and was impressed. I was disappointed not to have the kids though, I think they add a great deal (especially young Lola). I thought the woman playing Lauren was particularly impressive. Overall the cast was great, and I was happy that it didn't feel "cheapened" even though it was non-equity.
It's odd to me that they are just now "announcing" the cast, even though they played their first show last night. Anyway, I am seeing the production in Philly in a couple weeks, and I'm very curious to see how it is. Based on the few photos I've seen, it looks like the side walls of the set have been severely compromised.
This is slightly unrelated, but has anyone heard anything about the upcoming non-equity tour of Kinky Boots? It is supposed to play Philly in early October, so I'm kind of puzzled about the lack of information on it at this point.

AC126748 mentioned Philly, Boston, San Fran, and DC. In what universe are those cities "flyover country"? Denver and Dallas sure. But not those other big coastal cities.

Yeah, really, aplogize for cutting off just moments before the big moment. After some chatter with talking heads and the hot weather, they went back to the Tonys. I wonder if they got calls. It cut back just as Kevin and Robin were walking across the stage.
I recently had a similar discussion about the musical Kinky Boots. The finale, "Raise You Up/Just Be," put a sour taste in my mouth. I'm unable to forgive the way Don, Charlie and the other factory workers treat Lola. I'd watched them threaten and belittle Lola for half the show. Their co-worker. The consultant they hired to save their jobs. Then Charlie gives a condescendin

No, it was in 2013 when Diane Paulus won Best Direction for Pippi
Maybe something from "Hello, Dolly!" if you are looking for classic showtunes. Also "Ring Them Bells" would be a fun one to do. Where in Atlanta do you perform?

Billy Porter in KINKY BOOTS, Leslie Odom Jr. in HAMILTON, Douglas Hodge in LA CAGE, Norbert Leo Butz in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, Idina Menzel in WICKED, Faith Price in GUYS IN DOLLS are just some examples from the top of my head. The list goes on.

I think the ladies from War Paint are more likely to split t
When they came to my city, they did not have a lottery, but they did have student rush tickets for certain performances. You should check with the presenters in your city to be sure though.
