Isn't show choir singing and dancing, NOT just regular stand on risers and sing choir?
My high school didn't have show choir and I only did the "regular" kind, which was not exhausting. All sports (including swimming) and marching band counted as phys ed credit. Personally, I think theater is what needs to count. The mental and physical demands are there to justify it.
I think any extracurricular activity that requires physical work should cou

Unless there is an understudy slip listing the actor's name, it should be whoever is listed as the Phantom on the main cast page in the Playbill. I believe it's Ben Crawford right now? Enjoy!
Say what, exactly? One person said they were disappointed that she wasn’t doing an 8 show week, but in the same interview called her Eliza “definitive.” She did not personally attack herand was quite complimentary about her performance. I can’t imagine Ambrose, who’s been in the acting business long enough to have heard far worse, is concerned. If she is, well then, she needs to develop a much thicker skin.

Nice attempt at deflecting. Doesn't change the fact thatshe's openly and publicly liking sentiments that are bad-mouthing this production and essentially Lauren Ambrose."
Not a frequent poster here, but weighing in on this as a fan of Ambrose and fan of Benanti.
Initially, I was really excited about the idea of Benanti as Eliza because she exudes grace and poise. And she has classic comedic chops. But love her as I do, I find her a bit "too" poised. Her performances strike me as calculated and careful. This worked perfectly for Louise in GYPSY.
Ambrose is magnetic. Watching her in whatever medium, you
This has surely been mentioned before, but it's worth considering that the roles all those wonderful "golden age" actors played were not written like Evan Hansen. Not even close. Evan's music really is not intelligent vocal writing for long-term singing. It all sits in an unnatural register and prolonged use definitely causes damage and weakness. It would be like opera actors singing Wagner roles 8 times a week. So while I totally agree about ha
Not sure how I'd feel about the added nudity since I think the restraint is what adds to the tension and makes the play "ache" in that gorgeous, T. Williams style, but I would love to see it. Fingers crossed for a live broadcast!
I think the show will have a run similar to Fun Home's (not that I am comparing it to Fun Home in any way!!). Evan is a role that hundreds of young guys could do, and while I think the Ben is carrying the show in some way there is the potential for great actor to step into Heidi when/if Rachel leaves, which can bring in an audience.
