Evita - Eva's 6 Show Week May 9

They just announced this week that for the upcoming Sydney production starring Tina Arena that Jemma Rix will be playing Eva for one show a week. Interestingly, Jemma was the original Elphaba standby for the Australian production of Wicked. She eventually ended up taking over the role full time after Amanda Harrison suffered from terrible vocal troubles (that plus pregancies and cast departures meant they even had to fly in Carmen Cusack and Jennifer Di Noia at points). Jemma ended up being an a

I saw her in Melbourne at Hamer Hall a couple of years ago (it must have been 31 October 2015 to be exact!). I’ve seen many incredible concerts there - Idina, Sierra, Megan, Lea, 6 years of my school’s speech night - and Audra was absolutely a standout. I think my favourite numbers were I’ll Be Here from Ordinary Days (which I had never heard before) and Baby Mine from Dumbo (which holds special meaning to me) - apparently I like to cry! Another favourite was the hilarious Facebook Song by Austr

Seems like a compliment of the highest order."
When I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the actor playing the child catcher got boos and when we asked him he said that he considered it a compliment.

I know Rob Guest mentored Rob Mills and Anthony Callea when the three of them were in the original Australian cast of Wicked in Melbourne in 2008. Like Guest, Mills and Callea came from pop backgrounds (they were both Australian Idol contestants) and hadn’t worked in theatre much/at all.
After Rob Guest died, producer John Frost said: “People like Anthony Callea and Rob Mills, who has never worked in the theatre before ... The two boys [would be] sitting in the dressing room and Rob [G

I would love to hear Jayme-Lee Hanekom who is the U/S in the Australian production. She played Celie in a small production of The Color Purple and has some incredible pipes!

Into the Woods for me. It was my last high school production and by far my least favourite. Most of the cast were terrible and were more concerned with who was dating whom (we were an all girl’s school so shows were some of the few times to meet boys from our brother school - FYI the Baker was dating Rapunzel - they’re actually married now! and the Baker’s Wife and Cinderella’s Prince were very bitter exes).
Even with airfare and hotel, it'dprobably be cheaper to see itin London!!"
Or you can come to Melbourne! Although I think your odds would be better in London.
I’ll add that I had no issue getting TKTS tickets to OOTI in January and there were plenty of empty seats too.

I’ve done the Inside Broadway Tour, which was okay but not really something I’d recommend for someone who already has a lot of theatre knowledge. It might be better in warmer weather though.
The Radio City Tour is really interesting. I know there are also tours of Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Centre but I’ve never done them.
The only other semi theatre related thing I’ve done is visited Hamilton’s grave at Trinity Church. While it might seem a bit odd, it was actually really i

David Campbell, WOW- a super voice, excellent casting. The music, costumes, dancers and staging all first class. All on stage were fabulous. A full house and a total standing ovation'.
Now I can't wait for it to come to Brisbane."
I’ll be seeing Dream Lover late next month. I don’t kno
I have tickets to Dear Evan Hansen in New York for early January (no flights yet though!) and for Priscilla here in Melbourne in early February. Top of my list for Broadway currently are Once On This Island and Anastasia. In Australia I'll maybe see Mamma Mia again as they are doing another revival, plus Evita and if Aladdin extends by one more week then I might see that again as my sister will be back from overseas.
I'm afraid I can't see the pictures (it might be my phone though), but I just wanted to add that there isn't just a Broadway version and West End version of the bubble dress (or any of the Wicked costumes). When I was 17 and obsessed with Wicked I came across a site called galindaswardrobe.com that shows some of the variations across different productions and even over time in the same production.
I saw Hedwig at the Golden Gate and was honestly terrified walking around that neighbourhood; I think it would put me off seeing shows there if I were a local. I kind of wish I had taken photos of how seedy it looked rather than just the typical pretty shots of the bridge and Ghiradelli sundaes.
We have our fair share of homelessness and drug problems here in Melbourne and I've traveled to cities including LA, New York and Honolulu and nowhere else have I seen homeless p
I wasn't able to select my own seats when I was buying tickets for my 2014 trip and contacted them on Facebook about it. This was what they advised back then:
'You should also check that you have the most current version of Silverlight. You can check for new Silverlight updates or re-install updates by right clicking on the black box and selecting "Silverlight." Then click on the updates tab in the new window and select "Install updates automatically." You s
I went last year for the first time and this was my haul (I might be off with the prices):
- 3x tshirts (Annie, Grease and Fiddler) for $5 each
- Hedwig tshirt (limited cast and crew shirt) - $20
- 3x CDs (Jekyll & Hyde; Priscilla and Wonderland) - $2 each
- Annie metal water bottle, Hair fold up bag, Romeo & Juliet pen, Last Ship postcards and a baseball (can't remember the show) - FREE with my purchase of the above items
Tina Arena is playing Eva. As far as star casting goes, I'm actually quite pleased with it! She can actually sing and has theatre experience but will definitely put bums on seats that mightn't be there otherwise.
Last year I was at a concert of the songs of the late Nick Enright, an Australian musical theatre composer (he also wrote the book to The Boy From Oz) at a small theatre converted from an old church in Melbourne. The theatre has a large foyer/bar area and 2 performance spaces with the seats on bleachers and the 'stage' usually just being the flat floor. My mum and I were sitting in the front row (also on the floor) and we had our empty glasses and the rest of our bottle of wine u

There's so much talent in Australia it's ridiculous however producers tend to recycle the same three leading actresses over and over and over again. It'll most likely be Gemma Rix who plays the Eva. She seems to literally step out of one role and into another. "
Her bio is literally just 'Wicked in Japanese,

He did bring in Callum Francis to play Lola (although I think thanks to a certain Disney prince that move might be permanent!). In December however the Michael Cassel Group made a formal agreement with the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance that they would only employ international performers in limited circumstances (e.g. a performer of a particular ethnicity, a renowned performe
