Not crazy will call is actually at the end of a long entry way and right before the doors to the theater. Getting there at half hour before performance is fine.
Went last night to see this a day after seeing FERRYMAN and loved it! It was the perfect balance to the massive ferryman.....I loved the simplicity, humor and excellent performances of LIFESPAN. I'll admit after the show I went back and forth on if it was TOO slight or short, but I guess it all depends on the story you're looking to tell and it delivers on that. I feel like so many plays have no reason to exist other than for people to talk...but this said a lot without beating you ov
Bringing up Rudin is to not understanding his seasons.....He almost never has two BIG productions a season. Its usually several small plays and one big musical. Once you have a good GM and good staff and loyal (or trapped) investors it becomes easy to roll out two-three plays in the fall and then in the spring.
Global Creatures is producing two MULTI-MILLION dollar experiential massive musicals. It makes all the sense in the world not to open in the same season.
I'm sure opinions on this change if you're involved with a show that gets one, but between the nap and bernhardt hamlet both mediocre, while the critics may have liked them, they don't seem worthy of a seal. That should be saved not for raves, or positive reviews, but for extraordinary, special theatrical experiences. Like Cursed Child, or South Pacific, or The Ferryman, etc etc (random ones I know but just examples)
The WORKSHOP was cancelled...Not the production. They're still working on it. Marin Mazzie did a previous workshop so her passing is putting the next workshop on hold.
I really hope its its own thing an homage to the movie and imagery of the movie. The movie doesn't really have a plot or not a 2.5 hour plot. I think they'll use some of the Elfman score even if its suggestive. They're biggest struggle will be figuring out how to honor the imagery and score from the movie...but in terms of plot as long as the characters are there that's where they can really expand.
Saw a workshop and was so disappointed. I believe the best director and creative team is what every musical calls for, regardless of gender or race....but I have to say this really needed a female perspective. It just reads like a bunch of men trying to be progressive....
