I am looking for songs for 4 boys. Any ideas?  Jul 31 2020, 08:24:09 PM

Greatest Song of All Time From a Musical  Jul 30 2020, 07:17:07 PM

I personally am a "Finishing the Hat" fanatic. I don't know of any other song, musical theatre or otherwise, that describes so precisely what it feels like to be so passionate about something that you lose sight of everything else, and the internal conflict that comes as a result. George obsesses over painting to such a degree that, even as he laments the fact that his tunnel vision toward art drew away the woman he loved most, he can't stay upset for long and wraps him

Disney+ developing Once on this Island film adaptation  Jul 30 2020, 05:21:11 PM

My face lit up when I saw this announcement! I'm so thrilled to see how it's going to turn out.

Disney's TANGLED on Broadway?  Jul 26 2020, 02:24:58 PM

I would have to agree that the music of Tangled, while not bad, is worse than Menken's other work, but I honestly enjoyed the new songs from the cruise ship production even less. If it ever makes its way to Broadway, I hope there would be some new, more memorable songs added to the score. Tangled as it is now simply doesn't have a Whole New World, a Let it Go, or a Part of Your World that would keep me coming back to listen to it over and over again. That being said, Tangled is o

My immediate thought was Come From Away, although I know it hasn't had that same effect on some people.

What musical are you listening to/have listened to in quarantine?  Jul 17 2020, 10:48:33 PM

I can't get enough of the original Off-Broadway Little Shop of Horrors during this quarantine

Eddie Perfect’s score to Beetlejuice issues  Jul 16 2020, 10:05:33 PM

Honestly, I'm pretty much dead-set in the middle when it comes to Beetlejuice. I find parts of its score fun and enjoyable but other parts just plain annoying (read: most of what Beetlejuice himself sings). Personally, I enjoy its score a lot more than the ones from some other shows that have rece

Do You Have a Famous Look-Alike?  Jul 15 2020, 10:42:59 PM

Many strangers have stopped me on the street and asked me to take a picture with them, thinking I was Trekkie Monster.

do most actors and athletes block people because of job security?  Jul 15 2020, 08:34:24 PM

Another episode in the saga! This is all strangely intriguing.

does bernadette peters and every other famous voice actor or actress only like people who voice animals?  Jul 15 2020, 12:41:48 AM

What Are Great Musical Roles That Don’t Sing Much  Jul 14 2020, 02:12:52 PM

Desiree doesn't have to be a great singer, but she has her fair share of songs, what with "The Glamorous Life," "Send in the Clowns," "You Must Meet My Wife," and the finale.

(Almost) All White  Jul 8 2020, 11:32:30 PM

Plus, if we look at the actual makeup of Washington Heights (where I’ve lived for the past 2 years), the community tends to be made up of Black and Brown people, not White Latin Americans. So I think it’s safe to assume that the ch

Hamilton Broadway Coming to Disney Plus July 3  Jul 8 2020, 07:01:56 PM

I assume those were the moments taped without an audience. There is absolutely no way the applause would have died down in the two-second pause between "Alexander Hamilton" and "my name is Alexander Hamilton."

(Almost) All White  Jul 8 2020, 01:40:48 PM

What complicates the matter a little is that being Latino is not exactly a matter of race. My great-grandparents were born and grew up in Mexico, and their families had lived in Mexico for generations prior, but to the average American person, they would look white, and one of their daughters was even born with blonde hair.

Being Latino is more of a cultural identity, one that has been lost on my family because when they moved to the U.S., they chose not to raise their childr

Not having Betsy Struxness in the Hamilton movie does a disservice to the show  Jul 7 2020, 07:46:33 PM

When there are cast members who aren't the same as the ones who opened on Broadway, it's pretty clearly not the Original Broadway Cast. You could call it "the Original Broadway Cast with the exception of ensemble members Betsy Struxness and Emmy Raver-Lapman," but just saying it's the OBC point-blank is misleading.

Where is this on her website? I looked everywhere and found nothing about this. There is no direction or cohesiveness to her website I was sure I’d stumble onto a sourdough bread recipe or a TikTok on iPhone shortcuts.

Yeah, that makes sense, and I understand that Hamilton isn't everyone's favorite show. I was more interested to see if they would nitpick little things about this recor

OUR Hamilton Reviews  Jul 3 2020, 04:42:25 PM

I just finished watching, and I'll admit to having had high expectations, which isn't always the best idea, but in this case, those expectations were absolutely met and even surpassed. Usually, when I watch pro-shots of musicals, there's some point where I get the sense that the camera angle being shown is leaving something out that I wanted to see, but I never felt that way once during this one (Jonathan Groff's excessive spluttering is part of his charm). The audio mixing se
