I'm slow. I just figured out how to search for a range of dates using telecharge. Not a single ticket available between September 17 and November 3. Resale seats are going for $400 + fees. I should have snapped up some of those premium tickets that showed up for brief second. Since I live across the country, I can't come to NYC in hopes of getting a rush ticket. Let's hope they extend.
Brigadoon at New York City Center this November. Finally seeing Patrick Wilson in a proper musical. Kelli O'Hara Stephanie J. Block Robbie Fairchild Ross Lekites ..it was perfect.
There are some decent audios of the Encores production on you tube. I have seen no videos. I keep looking. Nothing can re-create the wonder of the show I saw, but anything is appreciated.
Patrick Wilson sang with Barbra Streisand at the show in Miami and then tweeted about it. And since there was no video of that performance, I was waiting for the Netflix show assuming it would be there. It isn't. Just weird and disappointing.
This was also my first show I saw on Broadway when I was traveling for work in 1992. I saw the entire original cast. The best part: My parents were huge musical fans. When I was growing up they had ALL the albums of the musicals of the day. My father was an excellent singer. We flew them out from California to see Guys and Dolls with us. They'd never been to any show ever. We spent a huge amount ($60 each) for four seats in row 5 or 6 in the center.&nbs
When referencing the reprises, I was comparing to the 1966 TV Movie when there was only Fiona singing in the background of the Bar scene. I rewatched a Broadway version from 1980 on youtube and their was also a short reprise by Tommy on the way back to Scotland. In this version at New York City Center, there is a lot more including Fiona and Tommy singing together at the glorious end. I was thrilled by the whole thing and the ending just seemed more satisfying than anything
I was there. Couldn't imagine a better production. All the voices ... all of them were amazing. Whether it was the voices or the kilts or the dancing or the music. They added reprises of all the songs at the end of the 2nd Act. I loved that. If only to hear Kelli O'Hara and Patrick Wilson's voices just a bit more than expected. I didn't realize Patrick Wilson had a voice like that. And Kelli was sublime. I've seen her i
Just learning about Brigadoon playing at New York City Center next month. Kelli O'Hara, Stephanie J. Block, Robert Fairchild, AND Patrick Wilson. I see very limited tickets at nycitycenter.org and only in the last few rows of balcony. Stubhub has better tickets but in the $500 range. What to do? Will more tickets come available? Will the Stubhub ticket prices go down? What about those rear balcony seats for $75? Thoughts?
I only wanted to see this when Patrick Wilson was going to play Edward. I'll have to go see Brigadoon instead.

I'll be there. Can't wait. Patrick is always entertaining in interviews. Will be fun to see him interview someone else ... especially a close friend. Will also be interesting to compare/contrast Patrick's Broadway to film career vs. Christian's Broadway to TV career.
Megan Mullally To Return to Broadway In GUYS AND DOLLS? Apr 22

Quote "I wasn't impressed with any of the clips I saw of the concert version, including Mullally---even if she fared slightly better than the others. "
Wow ... I didn't feel this way at all. I saw both the concert at Carnegie Hall and the 1992 Revival on Broadway and I thought all the performances at Carnegie were just as good. There are some decent audios floating around of Mullally, Boggess, Wilson, and Lane.
Will Patrick Wilson EVER come back to a Broadway Musical? Apr 2

Only one night, but Patrick Wilson (and Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Sierra Boggess) will be on "Broadway" at Carnegie Hall tomorrow night in a one-night concert performance of Guys and Dolls. In interviews Patrick continues to say he is looking for an opportunity to come back to Broadway in a show ... gotta be tough with all the movie opportunities coming his way (i.e. Antman, Conjuring 2, etc.).

There are tickets available via the Carnegie Hall website. Single tickets in first couple rows. Tickets together in the back of the Orchestra (Parquet). Way cheaper than StubHub.
I also read that Patrick Wilson will be shooting a movie in Utah in April ... any rumors on whether he is really going to be in this or not?

Carnegie Hall just sent a tweet encouraging purchase of tickets to Guys and Dolls for Valentine's gifts. I scurried over to their website and only the $1000 charity tickets are available. Six weeks and counting. It might have to be those $200 seats from StubHub
