I don't really care about Alice Ripley's speech, it's great that she's passionate about what she does and it gave us a great opportunity to see an emotion on Sutton Foster's face besides "Happy! Smiley!"
What I don't like is her responses to her critics, especially via facebook statuses and youtube. Seriously? She knew what she signed up for when she got her BFA in MT. Not everyone will like you or your performance that's life but you can accept their criticisms with grace and dignity.

I'm quite certain that the audience got a taste of theatre history tonight, this is the epitome of Patti's career.
I thought most of the cast was wonderful. Leigh Anne Larkin was an absolutely delicious Baby June, she nailed all of her lines and her voice was in tip-top shape. I just wish that they would have both Junes En Pointe or in flat shoes, instead of one (in this case Baby June) en pointe and one in flats (Dainty June). I thought Davis gave a very solid performance when I saw the show last Tuesday and his voice sounded wonderful and contrasted very well with Gemignani's during the confrontations. Mackintosh is crazy.

There's a song by Irving Berlin called "Sisters," it's a great little number and there is a recording floating around with Rosemary Clooney and Doris Day singing it.
