SING STREET @ NYTW Feb 7
2020, 12:18:05 AM
JPeterman said: "I saw the show in previews in early January - he was in the show - he is the band’s drummer but he didn’t say a single word during the show ... which came across oddly."
Thanks for the info! I wonder if they wanted to put a drummer in the band but they hadn't actually prepare any dialogue for this role. Interesting to see if it gets expanded on broadway, does seem odd if he never speaks.

SING STREET @ NYTW Feb 6

I saw the 2nd preview of Sing Street at NYTW and have a question regarding a possible new character put in later during previews. When I saw the show there was no character listed in the program as Declan played by Anthony Genovesi. Now I see this character listed on the Broadway webpage. Was this character ever put in the program at NYTW and if someone wouldnt mind describing the character to me. Thanks!

Hamilton Cancellation Line Feb 1
2020, 02:30:14 PM
Since there hasn’t been a lot of SRO experiences on here, I hope my experience will be helpful:
I got SRO on a Friday night in late August. I would recommend coming at least 45mins before the show starts cause I arrived 7:30pm for 8pm show. At 730pm they started to let in patrons and there were too many lines so I couldn’t find the cancellation line. I went to the box office and was stop by security guard who told me: we don’t have SRO, we have cancellation, be prepare to pay $225

Moulin Rouge! Lottery Experience Jan 14

i imagine its all already pre-decided before you pick them up, possibly even when you purchase them. They already can tell you the day before if they are assigning you to a Can Can seat so they probably also know where they placing you in the theater..

I found out in the lottery email. There are special rules if you are sitting in Can Can seats so they would have to alert you ahead of time, good luck!

Hadestown Rush/SRO Updates Dec 27
2019, 03:40:40 PM
Early December rushed for Wednesday evening SRO. 1st person arrived 4pm. Only 2 others arrived. Someone can probably arrive after the holidays/in wintertime at 5pm when they sell them & still get a ticket.

NY City Ballet rush? Dec 27
2019, 03:39:31 PM
I know this is BWW but sometimes I do see threads about other performances in NYC. Does anyone have any tips for discounted tickets for the NY City Ballet’s Nutcracker? Sadly I don’t qualify for $30 for 30 & under. Can a friend under 30 purchase a seat for me too?
What are other opinions? I’m not aware of any rush or SRO opinions like broadway shows, thanks!

Tina SRO Dec 19

just a heads up, i rushed this last wk & the box office person ask my height cause he mention 5'3 is about the cut off for this SRO. the wall is high and im about 5'4 and was resting my arms on the top of the wall.
also note: the Lunt Fontanne doesn't have coat check, another thing to keep in mind if your doing SRO this winter.

Christmas Carol Rush Reports Dec 19
2019, 08:54:36 PM
if this helps, i got a rush ticket yesterday (12/18) at 12pm for the 2pm matinee. seat was A8 & the box office person told me it was the last full view rush ticket so the 1st row seats are not being stamp as partial view. like someone mention, your view sometimes gets block from the backs of actors but its exciting to be so close up to the action.

does anybody care to share how you find out so quickly when popular shows like come from away or hadestown are listed? is there some notification you set on tdf or your computer? i do notice new listings tend to happen monday or tuesday of the week but i'm never quick enough for those with very limited quantities.
also does anyone know if tdf lets you anywhere save your credit card information for future purchases? thanks!

NYPL culture pass - free 2nd stage tickets Feb 27
2019, 09:29:13 AM The boards have been very helpful to me so I wanted to share about a program that I havent seen mention on here. New York Public Library started a culture pass program this summer for any library card holders. Its mostly for free museum tickets but I randomly stumble upon last winter a free ticket for Days of Rage at 2nd Stage. I sat in the box balcony which is partial view but overall I dont think I missed anything. I thought it was a random flux but I recently notice that 2nd Stage was again l

Frozen Lottery Dec 1
2018, 03:00:36 PM
i sat in august row G extreme right side with the lottery. you will miss some extreme right set pieces & if anything happens really deep back in the stage. i remember i couldnt see all of Let it Go when she went deep back (i can't remember if i saw the costume change) but generally most action is center stage. i wasn't extremely into the show so i think worth it for $30. hope this helps!
