Alice Ripley to star in NYC production of Dec 11

It’s just the intro which is just Lizzie and then Arlene doing a little reprise of the bridge of I want it all. The song itself was cut.
No the actors leave the audience alone. It is as if you are a fly on the wall watching these characters in their home. It’s brilliant.
And no you do not need to know a thing to enjoy!

I saw this yesterday and thought it was an absolutely EXQUISITE production. Top to bottom! What an incredible cast and the direction was...indescribable really.
I personally think the pleasure is being anywhere in the playing space and would think the bank of seats behind the couch with the seats toward the wall would be least desirable. But I’d be curious to hear other reports. I am basing that almost entirely on the fact that a fair amount of Patterns (Alice’s act 2 number) takes pla
The rest of the cast doesn't look too shabby either....

I agree with above! I can’t believe what an absolutely exquisite piece of theatre this is...
Not to sound hyperbolic but I have lived in NY for 20 years and see 2 shows a week. This is in my top 3. I feel as though once I have had time to process it, it may just catapult to the very top.
Speechless is pretty much the only way to describe it..
I am going tomorrow, matinee. Will report back. I heard from a friend who was there who said the audience was in tears. I am excited!
The production photos look good.

Any word on this? Subject matter is interesting and a one woman show with Ripley is intriguing....

You’re veiled attempts at seeming as though you are not associated with the show are laughable!! I happen to know for a fact that ticket sales were nonexistent. Literally, no one I talked to liked any aspect of this show. Sure it’s highly subjective but to talk about this absolutely outmoded piece of predictable mush as anything but a misguided and sad vanity projecy for Doug Cohen doesn’t fly.

Wow! And what was your relationship to the show cause this was one of the biggest piles of trash I have ever seen. The music was unforgettable, the story idiotic and the performances WEAK (except Crumm at times). Derivative, cliched with nary a melody or clever lyric to latch onto.
There was a reason this show got slammed by times and ended up literally having a hard time GIVING away tickets.
Why they wasted money on a cast recording literally NO ONE wants is beyond me. <
I have seen and very much enjoyed both. But its like comparing a burger from shake shack to a tasting menu by Daniel Boulud.

This looks like an interesting production of into the Woods , but don’t know cause it doesn’t start previews until next week.
$1,974 is the current minimum for anyone on a Broadway Production contract. This is lower for shows produced by Roundabout, Manhattan Theatre Club, Lincoln Center as they are not producing on the commercial production contract but rather on the non profit LORT A+ contract. This is the same contract (be it on different tiers) that a number of higher profile regional theatres produce on.
Very few contracts on Broadway are at that minimum. The rare occasions include being on
