If someone told me this was opening night I would've believed it. Hnath knocked it out of the park yet again with a wonderful and refreshing piece. While mostly fictional it is so honest with the portrayal of two people who just so happen to be Hillary and Bill Clinton. Laurie and John's chemistry is magical to watch, and Zak was great too. Laurie is winning her third tony. How lucky we are to be in the age of Laurie Metcalf.

I'm thinking that Circle in the Square is a relatively small space and I worry about blanks hurting my hearing (plus I have PTSD when it comes to gunshots being fired). I don't necessarily know how to describe what I just saw, but I loved it. Lane is fantastic, Nielsen is lovely, but White really takes this and runs with it. Utterly incredible. I will also add that the front row is a splash zone. I got covered in fake blood. Be aware if you aren't into that.

For American Son I sat front row and it was a perfect view. Granted, I know nothing about this show's set, but you should be fine.
Caught this last night. Sturridge is an absolutely fantastic actor, but his material leaves much more to be desired. Gyllenhaal is the star of the night, and you could tell the crowd also enjoyed him more. His material is also significantly better and much more enjoyable. Go see this if you can for Gyllenhaal alone!
