I'm so happy for more Dallas talent getting booked! I've seen Julie and Chamblee in so many shows here I've lost count. I'm just upset the tour, as of now, isn't even hitting Texas. If it does, I hope they'll still be in it.
This show grew on me to a point where I was in tears one day listening to the cast album. I love Idina, but Tonya should have won. I would love to see this show, but I'm mad I didn't get to see the original.
I just saw the tour in June. The entire stage felt cramped this time (it was my third time seeing the tour, but first since the update). And I really miss the chase sequence in Chow Down and the Can You Feel flying sequence.
I got to see her and Tovah Feldshuh in a production of Arsenic and Old Lace at the Dallas Theater Center. Directed by Scott Schwartz. Costumes by William Harvey Long. It was a fun show.

Elaine Stritch's AT LIBERTY was indeed on Broadway. It played the Neil Simon Theatre in 2002. She also won a Special Tony Award for it (her acceptance speech was famously cut short).
I'm slightly surprised no one mentioned Chicago. IIRC, Roxie is supposed to be in her 20s, but Fosse wanted Gwen to play it. Of course now, Roxie is usually played by an actress in her late 30s to 40s. The only young Roxie I can think of is when Ashlee Simpson played it.

That's sad. The chase scene really showed off the elephant graveyard set and I loved the choreo in Can You Feel.

I don't know about you, but the set at The Play That Goes Wrong always made me feel nervous, lol
I know that the recently retooled the tour so that it could fit into more houses, but seeing it last night I had a questions about the cuts they made. I know Morning Report has been taken out of all productions. But there were some glaring things missing from the previous times I saw the tour that I'm unsure if they are permanent cuts or if its just for this retooled tour. The main cuts I noticed were:
1) The chase scene during Chow Down was gone, which I'm assuming is ju
I got to see her in the world premier of Hood by Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flynn. She was Maid Marian and was an absolute delight, though Alysha Umphress had the better songs, well song. The score unfortunately wasn't all that memorable, but it was a pretty fun show.

Ha, in the Dallas Theater Center production last year, it was way more than 20 seconds. And instead of just standing there and singing nude, there was actual choreography. It was actually really beautiful.

I was in row g right seat 16 or 18, and I could see everything but Horace's table during the restaurant scene.

The Broadway Stories podcast episode with Lindsay Mendez touches on the whole debacle.
I wish that Fly would make it to Broadway. I absolutely adored the Dallas Theater Center production, but nothing has happened since.

I was close to tears when I heard about this. To lose your child so young in such a horrific manner is just unbelievable. So glad to hear her and her unborn child are ok and send her and her husband much love in this difficult time.
