Joel Grey Comes Out Publicly: 'I'm a Gay Man' Jan 28

yeah I am thinking Jennifer is somewhat more privy to the inside scoop. It sounds like his family supports him fully, which is great.
While it's not a secret to his friends and family, the entertainer's never spoken about it publicly before. "All the people close to me have known for years who I am," Grey tells PEOPLE. "[Yet] it took time to embrace that other part of who I always was."

I half-heard this story coming from the radio in the other room over dinner. I had to run to the kitchen to make sure it wasn't a Sondheim obituary, and when I realized it wasn't, made a mental note to listen today. Thanks for the reminder- it was wonderful except for that mean Liza dig! For shame!)

Baldwin was actually what made me think of Arsenic. I was watching his brilliant comedic timing on a 30 Rock episode and thought 'I wish he could play a really madcap comedy part- a Cary Grant part.' Mortimer's age isn't specified except he's "finally" getting married and settling down after a long career as a dramatic critic. If you assume he's the oldest brother, it all sort of works.
And I'd love to see Betty & Cloris together again.
Live,on NBC October 2015: Arsenic and Old Lace! Starring Alec Baldwin as Mortimer Brewster, Rafe Fiennes as Jonathan Brewster, Johnnny Depp as Dr. Einstein, Eric Stonestreet as Teddy Brewster, Emily Blunt as Elaine Harper and Betty White and Cloris Leachman as Martha & Abby Brewster.
Tell me you wouldn't tune in to that.
When Liza Stepped Into Chicago Jan 25

After seeing Kander and Ebb's Chicago in 1975, Ethel Merman complained to her friend Rose Marie, "You know what Gwen Verdon says right at the beginning? 'I gotta pee!' Can you imagine that in a musical? Jeez, that ain't Broadway." However, when Merman attended a performance of the Tony-winning Torch Song Trilogy, playwright/star Harvey Fierstein asked what she thought of the show, and has quoted her as responding with, "I thought it was a piece of s***, but the audience laughed and cried, so wha

Wow- can't imagine anyone tossing aside Rachel Rockwell as the director that rips off the last Broadway production. I haven't seen WSS (can't stand the show)but everything I've seen her do has been excellent. Her production of Ragtime at Drury Lane was without a doubt the best production of that show I've ever seen- and yes, I saw it on Broadway. Her re-imagining of Brigadoon at Goodman was a smash and this production of WSS was just recently extended- a real rarity at this heavily subscribed th

When SITPWG was announced, several friends commented that Sondheim had lost it and a "Musical about a painting" sounded excruciating. I saw that image and immediately grasped the concept and was instantly intrigued.

I worked on a production of this in the 80s and i don't think I've ever seen a musical get a stronger audience reaction. Perhaps because it wasn't that well-known it caught them by surprise?
