Dear Evan Hansen - Cancellation Line/Lottery/Ticketing Questions May 8
2018, 10:14:25 PM
Oh! I'll give a few reports: on a Wednesday last month my friend's boyfriend went at 9AM and was the first person there and more people began to line up at 9:20. He got 2 standing room tickets, I don't know what else happened.
Thursday May 3rd me and a friend lined up at 8AM and no one else ever arrived, we tried to get three standing room tickets (one for another friend), and we were told they only had two.
This past Saturday, the 5th, my friend went (I don't know when), and w

And all of you surprised about the OOTI shut out are quickly forgetting how much the Awards gifted DEH over Comet, which was by far the more creative and original of the two."

If they were talking about the Dear Evan Hansen stage door then they would be correct, but every other stage door I have been to hasnt had that rule (with the exception of some actors- Ingrid Michaelson at The Great Comet didn't take pictures). It will almost always
Saw this last night, an incredible experience and an absolutely engaging show. The space it's in is so perfect. As Klubby said it's hard to categorize or describe... It's such a genuine and intense story, the musical numbers and the narration of it and the scenework are all so well put together into just this thing ive just. Never experienced before. As an autobiographical story there are some parts that seemed rushed for the narrative or points that didn't seem to fit in perf
DEH worth it? Mar 21

I'd echo that the "worth" is really up to your discretion. I paid $270 max to see the show (with MLB as Evan, horrible stubhub ticket) and then saw it three more times (from $135-213, Ben twice and Taylor once), as a big fan of the show and score I have found it worth it every time and will likely go again, even at the $135+ range. But this is just me, and it really depends on how interested you are in the show.
A Word About Rachel Bay Jones Mar 18

I missed out on RBJ the first time I saw Dear Evan Hansen, and so the second time I saw it, when she was in, it was like a revelation. I feel blessed to of seen her incredible performance two more times since, and I think she will be the hardest to replace in the cast. Her energy in the role is incredible and she brings so much to it. I am in shock any time anyone says she robbed the Tony last year from any of the other nominees.

Should they still have rush later into the day?
Best Way to get Spongebob Tickets? Mar 14
2018, 01:41:43 PM
Me and two of my siblings want to get tickets to Spongebob either for tonight or tomorrow night, should they be at the TKTS booth and is that the best way to get them for cheap? Or would the box office have rush that we could just go to? I want to eat orchestra seats if we can get them for under $100 each.
Thanks for any advice/suggestions you guys migh have!
Rush for Sunday Matinee Mar 10

I've never rushed Sunday specifically but I think it would vary wildly amongst shows. Research specific shows (just google "-show name- rush" and you'll probably get a thread with info) to figure out demand. Most (if not all?) box offices open at 12 on Sunday, so any weekday information might be able to be pushed forward a couple hours.
Spongebob and the Play that Goes Wrong are two shows that I am pretty sure have "walk up any time before showtime" sort of rush. I've done Come From Awa

It frustrates me to no end, because, although I do think they are talented composers, their scores and lyrics are absolutely nothing special and quite repetitive. They are just brilliant in pandering to the mainstream audience AND finding collaborators whose works are much better than theirs (Chazelle for ‘La La Land’; Levenson’s boo

The premise for this one is odd enough (out of work actors protest on behalf of a lesbian banned from the prom) that I'm surprised it's the one going to Broadway."

To clarify - you're questioning if their hearts are in the right place concerning not wanting to show off a sexual abuser's work or if this is just a convenient way to look good while cancelling a production that wasn't coming along well? Because I am a little wary as well- the allegations against Woody Allen are not new

whoa. how come only 12 people got seats counting SRO AND actual seats?
both times i tried SRO tickets, they sold about 10-15 rush tickets and about 30 SROs (15 for each performance)."
Dollypop said: "Yes, I understand that. However, I found out that there had been no dress rehearsal. What we saw was an Invited Dress, only we paid."
I think this is a reasonable complaint. Even if you did enjoy the night I can imagine feelin a little taken advantage of with this. You got to see her first real, full run in the role, though, which is kind of cool in its own right!
Reduced price previews Jan 22
2018, 06:47:25 PM
Isn't Dollypop referring to like how tickets are sometimes like a tier lower or like $10 less (or something?) during previews, not like coupon codes to be used during previews, like duh those exist and are out there. OOTI, the only show I looked at getting tickets for recently during previews, and it had a lower price range during previews.
I think it shouod be like that for if no other reason then: what's the point of calling it a preview? Seems skeevy to me to sell an unfinished prod

No idea. They were selling seats and standing together, though, and so it wasn't just the first people that got seats, becaus
