Question about Phantom (Spoilers) Oct 21

I might suggest checking out the 25th anniversary filming of Phantom to help you prepare. Once people on this board tell you the parts that might be triggering to you, you can watch the filmed version and know the exact dialogue and staging as well as where the gunshot sound comes from. That way you’re in a controlled space when you initially hear it and can emulate that feeling of control within the theatre.
I’m sure someone else will be better off at describing where the shots occur
Cody Simpson to make Broadway debut in Anastasia as Dmitry Oct 18

Count me as another one who doesn’t get it. Cody Simpson was sort of within my generation, but he was never popular the way any other “stars” were. It’s very Carly Rae again - sure, people know who these stars are, but is that enough to draw in ticket sales? It would’ve been easier to stunt cast Vlad - get a comedian in the role or something. John Bolton is incredible, but the role could definitely be simple for someone to learn, and he’s in enough scenes to satisfy people buying a ticket to see
I thought it was a pretty good musical. Nothing overly special, like others have said above, but enjoyable overall.
I agree on the sets, though. I still don't understand why they had a huge, elaborate balcony setup for the ballet, which isn't (at least in terms of plot) all that important as a set itself. It appears once and then it's gone. An odd choice to me, when they could have elaborated on the ballroom (a staircase setpiece that goes from gilded and golden to dila

I was just curious if you guys had any solid opinions. I know she recalls Dmitri bowing when they were children, but he actually mentions bowing previously in Learn to Do It, so I always thought Anya was just subconsciously remembering that. Though the music box is pretty hard to refute."

I doubt Christy is going anywhere. She'll probably stick around until she absolutely can't anymore. I don't have concrete evidence or anything, but she's pretty in love with the show.

Anyway, to echo your other reply, apparently it was something only Ramin did - andonly sometimes. One personsaid they saw Max do it, but I sort of wonder if it

Thank you!! I totally thought I was going crazy for a moment. It's too bad Max didn't continue with it. I thought that scene had built up so much tension that the suicide contemplation made a lot of sense.
I saw Anastasia on broadway last October (when Ramin Karimloo was Gleb). When I saw it, the finale of The Neva Flows/Still, Ramin points the gun to Anya, takes it away, and puts it to his own head instead to contemplate killing himself. However, when I speak to other people about it, some don't recall seeing that at all - just Gleb taking the gun away and kneeling down.
I guess I'm just curious about if you've seen it and recall what happens in the end?

The thing with Disney is, when they're good, they're REALLY good. The teams can be so creative. The Lion King (when it premiered, at least) was something totally new and different. Beauty and the Beast went in a dark new direction.
You just can't say the same for the little details in Frozen. I wish they had rigged Levy's costume so that some sort of synthetic snow came out at times. It would be much more impressive than projections. Disney comes up with the wildest way to bring new th

The colors of all the costumes get totally washed out by all the blue lighting, and I don't get any excitement when the ensemble enters because nothing looks different! It's just more people in the same dimly lit castle that I can barely see because their faces are half in shadow. I know this could

I find Patti difficult to listen to. Her vowels are so overly prominent. It sounded like she was singing 'for the first THYYYYME in forever' every time. It's distracting. The set flows nicely though! Plus the ensemble seems great.
I saw the OBC and then the tour (with Faure) and I can say it was pretty much the same in terms of orchestra and set design. The only thing really lacking is the grandeur of the ballroom (do they still have those moving candelabras?). But then, the ballroom scene in the Broadway version wasn't all that incredible anyways.
Edit: just read that its nonprofit and not reminiscent of either the previous tour or Broadway. Oops! (Though it gives me BATB networks v

"I think it's pretty rare for vacation announcements when there's no "star" in the show, so I don't think anyone knows for sure. You could try tweeting Christy, though
Count me in as one of the people not dazzled by the costumes. Why are they so cartoon-y? I think Disney really had an opportunity to expand from the movie. A carbon-copy isn't the way to go. It lacks the creativity they've had (like with Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin).
I guess it also depends on what time you're going. Some have predicted GHD will be closing soon. Anastasia will stick for at least a year, easy. So it really depends on what month you're going or if you'll be going to NYC again sometime in the near future.
So any guesses on when Bandstand will close? I'm in agreement that labor day will probably be its cut off, but you all know more than I do. I'm just curious because it seems like their gross is subpar every week.
