MS. Carmello is the grand dame of her generation but she missed a generation. In terms of age, she just missed the grand years of Ms. peters and the lady who doesn't know how to act, Ms Lupone (how this woman who is one of the worst actors made it as far as she did is incredible).
Its really too bad that she isn't a household name. Ms. Carmelo is one of the best performers broadway has to offer right now and more kids know who the leads of "be more chill" ar
musicals have crappy books because a lot of good writers go to TV/film because it pays so much more. why waste your time trying to get a show to broadway for 5 years when you can write a pilot and have it get picked up and then you have a 10 episode series where you make 250k.
its easy and fun for people who never create anything in this world to make fun of or wish ill on people who do. It makes them feel better that others fail as they sit around contributing nothing of consequence to the world other than their own feelings of dread onto people who "do something".

i usually look and base it by summer numbers...if the show isn't doing well..and just kinda "there" it will be gone. Summer and christmas are the biggest times. So if you aren't making a 100k or so over your nut in the summer there is almost no way you make it to the new year.
The max you get bought out is 15 weeks of pay. Thats probably around 35k for a standby. Why wouldn't the weisslers pay 35k to buy him out? that doesn't make any sense. the weisslers are multi millionaires..why would they care about 35k (or so)?
the bands visit was one of the more boring things i have ever seen. The last 20 min were good..the rest made me annoyed. Fish out of water story. seen it before. NExt.
they take almost anyone. Its a assembly line school. They want to make as much money off of kids as possible. Why would anyone go there now when there are better options.
so you are saying that adults that are in a children's show as their Adult job have friends that act like children with no manners? Who would have thought.
producers do this so they can raise money. Its hard to raise money when you don't actually have the broadway theater. putting down the deposit to hold the theater then makes it a ton easier to go to people and say "look we are actually going! give us 500k"
