Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 5/6/18  May 7 2018, 04:39:45 PM

I feel like needing 3 years to recoup is not uncommon for a Davenport show.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 5/6/18  May 7 2018, 04:32:53 PM

Forbes suggests that we'll be seeing higher grosses for SpongeBob and the others in the future. https://www.forbes.com/sites/marchershberg/2018/05/06/tony-awards-nominations-boost-broadway-box-office/

Probably not much of an immediate impact, because not many people hear the noms on Tuesday, and are like, "Oh my Gosh, I must see it tonight or tomorrow

Official 2018 TONY Nominations Thread  May 1 2018, 11:39:40 AM

Probably. The Tony's are national broadcast, and the show could use a boost from tourism.

Also, some interesting stats stuff here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/marchershberg/2018/05/01/the-impact-of-the-tony-award-nominations/#b2c49b27168e Not sure about how to explain the last point, though.

The Cher Show  Apr 17 2018, 11:53:32 AM

Great for her! While I would prefer to see her in the show, I'm sure that she'll be making more $ on TV.

Aaron Sorkin's TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Adaptation to premiere on Broadway December 13, 2018  Apr 17 2018, 11:27:34 AM

HogansHero said: "and with its end now clearly in sight."

What'll be the end? Settlement or cancellation?

The Cher Show  Apr 17 2018, 11:23:57 AM

What happened to Lena Hall?

Free Ticket to Phantom tonight 4/13  Apr 13 2018, 12:21:19 PM

Haha. Thanks for the detailed list. I was always curious about the service. But, I do care what I'm seeing, and do mind a crappy seat. GG, AIP, and SR were a little tougher tickets to get than Chicago and Phantom.

Also, side note, Jill Paice is so sweet! I'm always glad to see her in a show.

What do you want them to perform on the tony awards telecast  Apr 13 2018, 11:54:16 AM

I feel like Carousel's got to do You'll Never Walk Alone. It's an international anthem.

Free Ticket to Phantom tonight 4/13  Apr 13 2018, 11:51:31 AM

Out of curiosity, what's your experience been like using Bway Roulette?

Ken Davenport finally spearheads a successful production  Apr 13 2018, 11:50:15 AM

I guess on how it depends you define success. Artistically? Perhaps, but I would give more of the credit to Arden than Davenport. Financially? No. Even if OOTI does win, which is very much up in the air, I don't think that it will recoup.

TDF to Honor Tony Kushner  Apr 3 2018, 03:23:06 AM

Is it weird that TDF isn't honoring itself on its 50th anniversary?

Communications, because you can work in multiple industries.

Broadway Gets Tax Credit  Apr 3 2018, 01:21:13 AM

He could also ban scalping. Bots are only part of the problem.

Broadway Gets Tax Credit  Apr 2 2018, 10:06:27 PM

Broadway convinced Gov. Cuomo to renew its tax credit. Now, what about doing something about scalping?

The Cher Show  Mar 26 2018, 11:30:34 PM

I could see it as stunt-casting down the road.

The Cher Show  Mar 26 2018, 10:12:06 PM

It's official. https://www.forbes.com/sites/marchershberg/2018/03/26/stephanie-j-block-to-star-as-cher-on-broadway/#2d25de14241a

Ben Crawford to take over from Peter Joback in Phantom  Mar 9 2018, 11:21:06 AM

I'm happy for him, but he never really struck as me as someone who could play the Phantom. We'll see!

Riedel on ALW and Stigwood/future of the column  Mar 9 2018, 10:58:39 AM

Yes. He's sticking around for now.

Interesting article, but didn't ALW create RUG because Stigwood gave him some horrible contracts where most of the cash was going to Stigwood and not ALW?

NYCC Grand Hotel  Mar 9 2018, 10:51:00 AM

Are there any discounts floating around?
