The Head Over Heels Playbill is weird. If they really wanted to use the new advertising why not use the artwork with the cast? This just looks photoshopped.
Whoever played Matthew Broderick's mother in Nice Work If You Can Get It (I saw Blythe Danner), only came on for the final couple scenes for about five minutes of stage time.
The tap number from Escape to Margaritaville. Easily the worst example of "we need a tap number" I've seen, including DISASTER.
Speaking of Disaster, my worst moment would have to be Manoel Felciano throwing body parts over the side of the boat to "One, Two, Three times a Lady".
I really don't like Michael having an unrequited crush on Jeremy. It's great that he's canonically gay, but I'd rather they just kept the platonic relationship. It's not like we're rolling in depictions of straight/gay male friendships. Agreed that it makes no sense to have an almost kiss in Two Player Game.
As for the material, I missed the whole fandom craze despite being in that age range, but I've listened to the music and some of the songs are pretty ca
I can't imagine that she wouldn't have a blonde wig. Maybe a darker shade of blonde than other actresses, but that line is one of the most memorable in the show.
Re: Nicole Parker There are a couple episodes with her on Off Book: The Improvised Musical podcast. She still sounds great and is so funny! Would love to see her back on broadway.
I think the context missing when discussing Lea Salonga in the Ragtime concert is that the role of Mother had no history of being cast with a non-white actress, while West Side Story has had many productions (and a film adaptation) where Maria and other roles have been played by white actors. Salonga would never have been cast in a full production, so it was the only chance for her to do the show. Sierra has not only already played Maria, she's admitted she was wrong for it! Not
I also got orchestra seats for around $40 (including fees). Full cast was in, so I'm guessing Stubhub people just overestimated the demand for this show.
I agree with those who think that if this is supposed to be celebrity casting, it's definitely odd choices. I'm sure Tamyra Gray will be great, but one of the many things Home for the Holidays has showed us is that reality show contestants don't sell tickets. And Norm Lewis is wonderful, but he's not super well-known outside of the Broadway community. Also, Agwe's a pretty small role for him at this point, in my opinion.
I was just reading some of the bios of the creatives in the Muny announcement, and I noticed that Camille A. Brown (whose work I loved in Once on This Island) is apparently choreographing a 2018 Broadway revival of Pal Joey. Was this previously announced? I assume it has to be happening in the fall.
