There are some GREAT Off-Broadway works out there, but why not give a few moments of attention to the things and people that were ACTUALLY left off the list that COULD have been on the list? It bothers me EVERY year.&quo

I don’t remember a single song.
Also, we don’t need another story about a straight white man saving the day, because ultimately that’s what this story is. So I don’t understand why people are praising this book. I mean, Styles’ character is so vapidly written it’s offensive.
I will say Santino does an inarguably incredible job.

The award is best “featured” actor. First, it is the story of their combined marriage, and second you can still support another actor and be a lead actor. By y’all’s logic Eddie Izard should be supporting next year because metcalf’s role will be the center of the show. It’s a better argument to put Paddy Comsidine in supporting than Lithgow.
Compare Clinton’s role to Obama’s role in the play and realize the glaring difference between lead and featured.

That is a load of crap re: Lithgow as supporting. The show is called Hillary and Clinton. He is playing Clinton and is above title! He is the Lead Male Actor in that play, unequivocally. He is in the play for 80% and barely leaves until the end. There are two featured male actors that qualify for featured in that play.
It’s incredibly unfair to the real featured actors in the countless other shows when the supporting roles are filled with CELEBRITIES from LEADING roles. There needs to

I found it boring AF. Only song that peaked my interest was last one of first act. However, I left at intermission, so maybe second act picks up. I don’t think anyone needs to rush to buy their ticket.
At the end of the musical not a single person stood. Considering how cheap a standing O is, and for a musical especially, I do not think the audience is liking this piece.

I completely agree Damiensta. Gideon Glick is one of our greatest stage actors. He was snubbed for no good reason in 2017, he is owed his due.

I have never been so mind numbing bored in my life.
Significant Other as a movie? Jul 29

Fully agree! A performance that powerful and talented should live on one way or another.

Her biggest competition was from Angela Lansbury (only because she's a legend, but she was in an AWFUL play) and Eve Best (who got a love letter from Brantley but normal good reviews from everyone else). Gideon Glick didn't receive the kind of reviews that Julie White got."
I don't agree. Glick's reviews, even by critics who disliked the play, g
I disagree with brdwybound. No show will close without at least two weeks notice. As soon as they announce closing they'll know they have at least two weeks of good sales for last minute people and tony voters to get in. It's not like anything is going In this close to Tony's deadline.
I saw this last night too and have to say it's one of the most inane things I've sat through. Honestly, save your money and time and just watch a three stooges rerun.
This show is tired and insulting to true stagecraft that (should) exist on Broadway today. At best, this should be in a theater off Broadway for tourists.
Variety, time out New York, EW, and Hollywood reporter really seemed to love it.
The major takeaway from what I read was Gideon Glick's performance was stellar and star turning. Good for him. I thought He deserves it. Hope he gets the tony recognition.
For sure, Significant Other should be on that list. People who love musicals are dying for this play. And it's unlike anything currently on broadway, and maybe that ever has been...?
I loved this show. It's sharp, witty, funny, and heart wrenching. And Gideon Glick's performance sets the stage on fire. If he doesn't win a Tony for it, then there's no fairness in the world. Barbra Barry's work in it will resonate with you if you've ever had a meaningful conversation with your grandmother.
After Eight, so you're telling me you've never been into a crush or a hot work guy way out of your league? That you thought maybe could be into you? I know no one who hasn't been through that. And the other guy he dates is just a normal adorable guy who he's just as interested in. The show is about gnawing loneliness, and growing up to accept it. Unless you've been dating your high school sweet heart your whole life, I have no doub
