1932. The United States is in an economic depression. Lured by free meals and a significant premium, poor rolled by the crisis people flock to participate in "dance marathons" held across the country. For these farmers, workers, owners ruined stars unemployed, he is dancing as long as possible without stopping, and why not, being spotted by some film producers scattered throughout the public. A master of ceremonies, and greedy huckster, encourages and scolds those dancers extreme. No matter what, they play the game, do the show and dance for days and days, to entertain a crowd of eager show. They play their future, their hopes, their skin ... to lose reason.
