This is modern day Romania told through five reality-inspired scenes that reflect Romanian society today. The mayor of Baia Mare, a small south-western town, has ordered the construction of an immense wall, 1.8 metres high and 100 metres long, to separate the Roma community from other inhabitants.

Hear the alarming accounts of Filipino servants that have been reduced to mere slaves of modern society. Witness a massive scandal involving hundreds of civil servants who have fraudulently received compensation intended for the handicapped. The director Gianina Carbunariu has taken five true stories and used them as the basis for her show Solitaritate, brought to us by the European theatre project Villes en scènes/Cities on stage.
