Jean-Philippe Rameau Zaïs created in 1748 for the Paris Opera. Not long before the composer had been appointed to the Cabinet du Roi Compositeur you, and he delivered in the following years, a number of lighter, more entertaining under-Opera-ballets, including Zaïs. However, that does not mean that Rameau from his own claim to define French opera new, let go. The title character Zaïs is a spirit of the air has a love affair with the mortal shepherdess Zelidie. He wants to test their loyalty and puts them therefore from some samples that she is impeccable. At the end she receives from Spirit King Oromazes also bestowed immortality, and Zaïs they can marry. The opera contains some of the most beautiful moments of French music and had been at the premiere of a remarkable success. Particularly highlighted and discussed were Overture and Prologue, which is represented by the means of music, such as the mighty Oromazes separates the elements from each other and establishes a world harmony. The musical chaos seemed to many a time enjoyed too realistic because too dissonant, others were exceptional again by Rameau Erderschaffungs harmonies thrilled.
