1 Act
On the estate of the Larins in the Russian province is harvest time. The widowed landowner and the old nurse chat during the cooking of berries over the past over disappointed hopes in life and the habit as a replacement for default happiness. Of the two daughters of the House, the lively, carefree Olga is done to all Daseinsfreuden, the quiet, shy Tatyana, however, sunk in books, lost in daydreams. Here comes visit: Olga's fiance, the effusive young poet Lenski, leads his friend and estate neighbors Onegin, a sovereign people and free-spirited.
