In 1990 Wendy Matthews released her first solo album Émigré. The album went double platinum,  produced a string of hit singles and won her two ARIA Awards. In the same year, the readers of
Rolling Stone magazine voted her BEST FEMALE SINGER. Overnight sensation? Far from it!

Wendy celebrates her musical journey so far at a gala concert at the State Theatre on
Friday 26 November. Joining her onstage will be some of the collaborators that were
important in her musical introduction to Australia.

Now, with 1 million album sales and 7 ARIA Awards to her credit, Wendy is in a
great place in life:

"I live in a mud brick house that I built on the NSW mid-coast and am just beginning work
on a new album of original material to release on my own record label. It is a huge thrill
for me to be honoured with a concert that allows me to look back over the great moments
of my career so far and especially to share the stage with some friends that were an
important part of it."
