Broadway Remembers Whitney, a benefit concert honoring one of the greatest icons and voices of our generation, will take place on Monday, February 27th at Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street (between East 4th and Astor Place), performance begins at 9:30pm. Whitney Houston's iconic ballads and dance hits never missed a beat and she has remained an undeniable force and source of inspiration for so many in the theatre community and beyond. Headline talent includes Uzo Aduba (Godspell), Derrick Baskin (Memphis), Ato Blankson-Wood (Lysistrata Jones, Hair), Phillip Boykin (Porgy and Bess), Trevon Davis (Porgy and Bess), Nikkieli DeMone (Rent, Ragtime), Lulu Fall (Hair), Chester Gregory (Sister Act, Tarzan), Phyre Hawkins (Hair),Morgan James (Godspell), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Catch Me If You Can), Mykal Kilgore (Hair), Kecia Lewis-Evans (Leap of Faith, The Drowsy Chaperone), Caissie Levy (Ghost), Carrie Manolakos (Mamma Mia, Wicked Nat'l Tour), Julia Mattison (Godspell), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Hair), Kacie Sheik (Hair), Wallace Smith (Godspell, American Idiot) and Pearl Sun (Next To Normal, Happiness). Mr. Drucker, Ms. Lampert and N+N Productions, Nikole Vallins and Natalie Malotke, are thrilled to team up with some of the most influential and incredible voices in the Broadway community to celebrate the life and art of the one and only Ms. Whitney Houston. We want to do our part to carry on Whitney's name, therefore the proceeds of this concert will go to the The Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts in East Orange, New Jersey. This school strives to provide an environment in which every student can learn and every staff member can grow. They facilitate instruction based on the highest levels of professional judgement, knowledge and skills.
