Utah Symphony Performs The Third Installment In The Harry Potter Film Concert Series The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to Abravanel Hall with "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in Concert, the third film in the Harry Potter series. On November 29, 30 and December 1, guest conductor Justin Freer will conduct the Utah Symphony in performing this magical score live from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen. CineConcerts and Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, a new global concert tour celebrating the Harry Potter films, in 2016. Since the world premiere of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in Concert in June 2016, more than half a million fans have enjoyed this magical experience from J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World, which is scheduled to include over six-hundred performances across more than 38 countries worldwide through 2018.

The performances of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in Concert are the third in a series of concerts that will be presented over the coming years as the Utah Symphony performs all eight films in the Harry Potter Film Concert Series.

"This film series continues to shows our commitment to creating exciting programming that inspires a whole new generation of symphony goers," said Utah Symphony | Utah Opera President and CEO Paul Meecham. "I'm thrilled that we have had the chance to present to Utah audiences the entire iconic Harry Potter film series with live orchestral music. This has proven to be a fantastic opportunity for the Utah Symphony to expand its range of offerings, attract new audiences, and create a new holiday tradition for families of all ages."

In their third year at Hogwarts, Harry, Ron and Hermione meet escaped prisoner Sirius Black and learn to handle a half-horse/half-eagle Hippogriff, repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination. Harry must also withstand soul-sucking Dementors, outsmart a dangerous werewolf and deal with the truth about Sirius and his relationship to Harry and his parents.

Earning an Oscar nomination for the score, the spellbinding and masterful music composed by John Williams became a celebrated classic, conjuring beautiful, soaring motifs continuing the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends on their magical journey.
