The Costume Museum at The Wick in Boca Raton will showcase a sparkling tribute to the ultimate in glamour for their fifth season exhibit. BLING: The Brilliant History of Glitz will dazzle guests with an array of costumes from classic Broadway shows, famous films and world-class cruise productions. This exhibit will also feature an extraordinary collection of Liberace's finest presentational costumes, including the iconic "King Neptune" cape. This year's collection debuts with a spectacular fundraising event on September 16th, chaired by Marilyn Swillinger. Daily tours begin on September 18th. For tickets and more information please visit www.thewick.org or call 561-995-2333.

"The wardrobes we present in our fifth museum installation have graced the stages of the most prestigious theatre and opera houses, adorned stars in memorable films and were showstoppers in Liberace's Las Vegas productions," said Kimberly Wick, Curator. "The one thing they all have in common is embellishments and, as this exhibit proves, a little bling makes a big difference. This exhibit challenges you to look past the superficial into the genius of the artisan; to lean in and pay special attention to the exquisite handiwork and marvel at the time and talent that went in to creating such a work of art."

This exhibit will reach into the Wick's massive archive of over 55 Broadway collections and will feature costumes from La Cage aux Folles, The Producers, 42nd Street and more. In addition, film accessories fromCleopatra, Annie Get Your Gun and The King and I will be on display, along with a new collection of cruise show costumes The Wick recently purchased from the Jean Ann Ryan collection for Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Adding to the already dazzling display, The Wick is collaborating with the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts to showcase several of the maestro's famed costumes on loan from the Liberace Museum.

A special event celebrating the opening of Bling will take place on Saturday, September 16th. Chaired by Marilyn Swillinger, this glittering affair will feature a sumptuous luncheon, the acclaimed production of A Conversation with Edith Head starring award-winning actress Susan Claassen and an hour-long tour through the Brilliant History of Glitz. Tickets for the Saturday event are $145.
