The Sydney Comedy Festival Celebrates 15 Years Of Hilarity In 2019 In 2019, the Sydney Comedy Festival will celebrate its 15th year by delivering some of the finest comedians from all over the world to our shores for another huge event across four weeks from 22nd April to 19th May.

With the full program not due for release until February next year, the Festival has begun to announce some of the incredible talent who will be taking part in next year's event.

The first release includes some of the Festival's favourite international regulars including; Australia's adopted son of standup comedy Arj Barker (US), Geordie improviser extraordinaire Ross Noble (UK), and feel-good funny man Stephen K Amos (UK).

Adding more punch to the line-up is the Irish comedy legend Jimeoin, the acclaimed Scottish stand-up and Netflix star Daniel Sloss (SCO), comic nurse Georgie Carroll (UK/AUST), and New Zealand International Comedy Festival's 2017 Best Newcomer Award winner Melanie Bracewell (NZ).

Local stars joining the line-up include TV regular Nazeem Hussain, the acid-tongue prince Joel Creasey, the hilariously outspoken Akmal, Australia's only Turkish comic Tahir, musical comedy duo The Stevenson Experience, and rising star and Melbourne International Comedy Festival's 2017 Director's Choice Award winner Demi Lardner.

"We are pretty chuffed with our first announcement and can't wait to tell you about the rest!" said Festival Director Jorge Menidis.

The Festival will kick off in grand style with the spectacular Gala events at the Enmore Theatre on 23rd April, Sydney Opera House and Riverside Theatres on 24th April and The Concourse on 25th April. With a dazzling line-up of the funniest international and local stars, the Gala is the perfect taste of what's on offer throughout the festival.

The Sydney Comedy Festival continues to be the city's largest annual comedy event and in 2018, welcomed over 120,000 patrons.

Tickets for these shows will go on sale to the general public as of 10am on Friday 16th November via www.sydneycomedyfest.com.au.
