The Philly POPS will hold its fifth annual POPS Ball on September 14 at the Hyatt at the Bellevue.

Over 250 POPS supporters will enjoy a night of dinner and dancing to the full 65-piece POPS orchestra and guest vocalist Michael Andrew, led by Music Director Michael Krajewski. The musicians of the orchestra donate their time for this memorable beginning to their season. The POPS Ball is the major fundraiser of the 2017-2018 POPS season.

With a theme of "Chairman of the Board," the Ball honors Sal DeBunda, who recently completed a five-yard term as Chairman of the Philly POPS Board and now serves as Chairman Emeritus. Current Board Chairman Gary Frank serves as Chair of the Ball, along with co-chairs Frank and Dottie Giordano, and Honorary Co-Chair Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania.

After a 6-7:30 p.m. cocktail reception, doors will open to the ballroom while the orchestra plays "The Best is Yet to Come" and professional dancers in white tails and fedoras will escort guests to the dancefloor.

POPS fans will remember guest vocalist Michael Andrew from the 2015 POPS Ball and the sold-out run of Sinatra: A Centennial Celebration in 2015, which was so popular that an additional show was added to accommodate demand. He joins the POPS again this season with a refreshed repertoire in Sinatra & Friends.

Ann Catania of Ten Pennies Florist has created a décor scheme dedicated to event's theme and its navy and silver color palate. Guests will enter into a sea of blue and ivory and tables will have antique silver pieces with touches of crystal.

About the Philly POPS
The Philly POPS, the largest standalone pops orchestra in the United States, delights audiences with the inspired performance of American popular music. The POPS celebrates this distinctive musical heritage through an expanding repertoire of innovative concert presentations and a robust set of educational and engagement initiatives.

Now in its 39th season, the official POPS orchestra of Pennsylvania serves a consistently growing audience of over 100,000 annually. Music Director Michael Krajewski and the 65-piece Philly POPS orchestra keeps listeners tapping their toes to an impressive repertoire of songs from American traditions of music up through today's chart toppers.

Outside the concert hall, Salute Series performances - including POPS on Independence on July 3 and the I'll Be Home for Christmas: A Salute to the Military and First Responders concert - celebrate the American tradition of service around important national holidays; POPS in Schools enhances music education for Philadelphia School District students; and POPS Outside brings POPS music to local communities.

The Philly POPS performs as a founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and at venues throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
