The Dr. Dave Band To Perform At Friday Fest At Van Wezel

Wrapping up our Friday Fest series on September 14th is the Dr. Dave Band. A Bradenton favorite performing for more than a decade as a top-choice house band, this group knows how to wow a crowd with high-energy Southern Rock blended with bluegrass banjo and fiddle! The Dr. Dave Band just received the 2018 Reader's Choice Award for "Best Musical Group" from the Sarasota Herald-Tribune for the third time. Bring your lawn chairs and get ready to rock as we close out the 2018 Friday Fest series - you won't want to miss this!

Friday Fest, the Van Wezel's FREE outdoor summertime concert series, is the perfect way to catch a summer sunset and a fun-filled night of live music on Sarasota Bay. The Friday Fest events run from 5:00-9:00 PM and are located on the Bayside Lawn of the Van Wezel. Concerts will feature food trucks, beverage vendors and more. While blankets and lawn chairs are welcome at all Friday Fest events, outside food and drink, including coolers, are prohibited. Friday Fest takes place "rain or shine". In the event of inclement weather, the festival will move indoors to the Grand Foyer or the main stage of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is proud to provide an opportunity for concert-goers to give back to the community during this exciting evening of live entertainment. Keep an eye out for the bloodmobile, and don't miss the blood drive hosted by SunCoast Blood Bank!

This event is co-sponsored by Gettel Automotive Group and Cool Today. The talent sponsor is BNI, and additional sponsors include Z105 WTZB, Home Performance Alliance, ABC 7, Budweiser, Mattison's Bayside, Herald-Tribune Media Group, SRQ Media Group, The Bay, Pizza SRQ and the Van Wezel Foundation.
