The Dare Tactic Presents A ROLLER RINK TEMPTATION

The final event in The Dare Tactics 4th Season, 'A Roller Rink Temptation' by Catherine Weingarten, will roll into WOW Cafe Theatre May 25-27, 2018. Helmed by Daniella Caggiano, Roller Rink is a coming of age dark comedy romp about six teen chicks at a lesbian roller rink struggling for love in a new and sexiii world. Rootabega (Maggie Metnick*) is super jewy and confused about her sexuality, but luckily one of the rink's employee's, Lemonade (Dani Martineck) is ready to show her around. Poppy (Leah Lane) is finally 16 and her and her BFF Clementine ( Hui-Shan Yong) are super excited to celebrate; too bad a fat, scary, girly repressed secret threatens their friendship. Salmonella (Claire Rose Autran) says she's "straight" but a chance encounter with an awkward butch artist named Bluebell (Azalea Lewis) complicates everything.

Casting for this workshop includes Leah Lane, Maggie Metnick*, Azalea Lewis, Hui-Shan Yong, Claire Rose Autran, Danie Martineck, and Chris Costa. The production features Stage Management by Jessica Trombacco, Assistant Stage Management by Caroline Duffin, Costume Design by Laura Wynne, Lighting and Set by Quentin Madia, assisted by Merrill Peterson, and sound design by Megan Culley. The production is executively produced by Quentin Madia and Vinny Eden Ortega.

Founded in 2014, The Dare Tactic is a New York based theatre company dedicated to producing new, innovative, original works by underrepresented voices. Under fiscal sponsorship by Fractured Atlas, The Dare Tactic has produced 10 Mainstage productions at venues including: The ShapeShifter Lab, St. Paul's Theatre, The White Horse Tavern, Melville Gallery, and more. The Dare Tactic has been nominated at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, appeared at Poetic License Festival, and collaborated with administration at Pace University. CATHERINE WEINGARTEN is a friendly jewish chick from an obscure area of Pennsylvania! She has received commissions from Piper Theater Productions and Bloomsburg University, and has developed plays with Wide Eyed Productions and PlayGround Experiment. Her summer camp play Are You Ready to Get PAMPERED!? was developed at Dixon Place's Bingo Lounge, Less Than Rent Theater and will be part of the Dirty Blondes Beta series in June. Her short plays have been developed with Ugly Rhino, Fresh Fruit Festival, Abingdon Playwrights Group and the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, where she was named a National Semi-Finalist for "Pineapple Upside Down Cake." She has been involved with Abingdon Playwrights Group as well as New Perspective's Women's Work Short Play Lab. She is the recipient of the Scott McPherson Award. DANIELLA CAGGIANO is a freelance director and native New Yorker. She was named one of The Interval's "Women to Watch" in 2016 and is a current MTC Directing Fellow, the recipient of a 2018 Drama League Residency, and an alum of Labyrinth's Ensemble Workshop and the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. She has directed at Joe's Pub, The Flea, Dixon Place, Ugly Rhino, Musical Theatre Factory, Merkin Concert Hall, The Kraine, Le Poisson Rouge, HERE, FringeNYC, and 54 Below among others. Favorite projects include Next To Normal, Vinegar Tom, and an original adaptation of Macbeth. Recent assisting: Erin Markey's Rainbow Caverns (dir. Ellie Heyman), (Not) Water (dir.
