Russian-American pianist Olga Kern is now recognized as one of her generation's great pianists. She jumpstarted her U.S. career with her historic Gold Medal win at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas, the first woman to do so in more than thirty years. First prize winner of the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition at seventeen, Ms. Kern is a laureate of many international competitions. In 2016 she served as Jury Chairman of both the Seventh Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition and the first Olga Kern International Piano Competition, where she also holds the title of Artistic Director.

During the 2018-19 season, Kern will perform with the Moscow Philharmonic, Santa Fe Symphony, Pasadena Symphony, and the St. Louis Symphony. Also during this season, Kern will open the Pacific Symphony season and join the Royal Scottish National Orchestra's US Tour. She will appear in recital in Chicago, Dallas, Chicago, Southern California, Zurich, and Milan in addition to her Detroit appearance.

In recent seasons she has appeared with the Detroit, Baltimore, Colorado and San Antonio Symphony Orchestras, Rochester and Copenhagen Philharmonics, Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Orchestre National De Lyon and the NHK Symphony, among others, and has toured throughout South Africa, Australia and Israel. As an avid recitalist, she has appeared in solo and collaborative recitals at Carnegie Hall - including a recital with Renee Fleming - as well as in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Symphony Hall in Osaka, Salzburger Festspielhaus, La Scala in Milan, Tonhalle in Zurich, Chatelet in Paris, Van Wezel Hall in Sarasota, 92nd Street Y, Meany Hall in Seattle, and the University of Kansas' Lied Center.
