THE PITCHFORKS to Receive Reading at Loading Dock Theatre

Loading Dock Theatre will produce a reading of the new horror play, The Pitchforks by Andrew Kramer, on Saturday October 27 and Sunday October 28 at 5pm as a special Halloween offering of The Forklift Reading Series at their space at 170 Tillary St.

The reading will feature JR Bruno (The Book of Mormon), Paris Ellsworth (1969: The Second Man), Liam Torres (Locusts Have No King), Adam Ross Glickman (The Sound of Music National Tour) & E.B. Hinnant ( PITS: The Unauthorized 'Holes' Musical). Charles Quittner is directing with dramaturgy by Jessica Owens.

The Pitchforks received developmental support as part of the 2018 Artist Residency Program of The Drama League of New York. [Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director; Travis LeMont Ballenger, Associate Producer] and had a workshop in residence at The Woven Theatre in Nashville, TN.

Andrew Kramer is a queer playwright from Cleveland, OH. He is a graduate of Ball State University's Department of Theatre & Dance. Most recently, he was a finalist for the Forward Flux's Three New American Plays Commission. He is an alumni of the Downstage Left Playwriting Residency (Stage Left Theatre), the Emerging Writer's Group (The Public Theatre), the Nord Playwriting Fellow (Cleveland Public Theatre),the Groundbreakers Playwrights' Group (terraNOVA Theatre Collective) the SigWorks Musical Theatre Lab (Signature Theatre), the Ingram New Works Lab (Nashville Repertory Theatre) and the Core Apprentice Writer Program (The Playwrights Center.) His work has been seen in Cleveland, Indianapolis, Chicago, Brooklyn, Lincoln, Louisville, Nashville, Houston, Williamsburg VA, New York, Sacramento, Washington D.C, Cairns Australia and Bucharest Romania.

Charles Quittner (director) is a shuga pie supreme from Miami, Florida facilitating theatre as a director and producer. Loading Dock Theatre was formed by playwright/director Leegrid Stevens and actor Erin Treadway. The company is based in Brooklyn where we rehearse and build shows. The primary focus of Loading Dock is to create original plays that explore the extremes in human behavior. We produce emotional, character driven plays with an experimental edge.
