Shakespeare Project Of Chicago Presents A BAKER STREET CHRISTMAS CAPER

The Shakespeare Project of Chicago presents a special holiday production of A BAKER STREET CHRISTMAS CAPER, based on Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes mystery "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle," adapted by Peter Garino. The play will be preceded by A SELECTION OF ENGLISH CHRISTMAS CAROLS. Free performances are December 14 and 15, 2018, at the Niles-Maine District Library and the Newberry Library, respectively.

Crime does not take a holiday during the Christmas season, as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson discover in "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle." A few clues: a top hat, a "stuffed" Christmas goose, and a very precious stone that has gone missing.

Directed by Peter Garino, artistic director of The Shakespeare Project, A BAKER STREET CHRISTMAS CAPER features Gary Houston (Dr. Watson), John Kishline (Henry Baker), Daniel Millhouse (Ryder), Henry Michael Odum (Salesman), Christopher Prentice (Sherlock Holmes), David Skidmore (Peterson), Danni Smith (Landlord) and Grace Smith (Maggie).

The production features original music and sound design by George Zahora.

A SELECTION OF ENGLISH CHRISTMAS CAROLS features vocalist Danni Smith, accompanied by Martin Monahan.

The Shakespeare Project of Chicago's Theatrical Readings are fully staged, book-in-hand performances featuring members of Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers.
