ST. PATRICK'S DAY in NYC-The Luck of the Irish

Saint Patrick's Day, also known as the Feast of Saint Patrick, is annually held on March 17. It is both a cultural and religious celebration that marks the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the leading patron saint of Ireland.

The personal finance website, WalletHub has determined the best cities for celebrating Irish-American heritage. They compared 200 of the largest U.S. cities across 17 key metrics, ranging from Irish pubs and restaurants per capita to lowest price for a three-star hotel on St. Patrick's Day to the weather forecast. They report that New York is 1st in Irish pubs and restaurants per Capita.

So get out and celebrate. There's the big parade up 5th Avenue and restaurants with holiday specials. We've rounded up a few ways that you can share the "Luck of the Irish" on that special day with friends and family.

Boulton & Watt (East Village) They will be offering Corned Beef Hash for weekend brunch, served with all the fixin's at just $16, and why not raise a toast your fellow Irish, or your traditional brunch dish, with $7 shots of Tullamore Whiskey. Both deals are available on Saturday and Sunday (while supplies last). Visit: http://www.boultonandwattnyc.com/.

Lil' Gem (Lower East Side) At this new Lebanese-ish spot on the Lower East Side, Chef Melissa O'Donnell is playing on her Irish heritage by serving a unique rendition of the classic Corned Beef and Cabbage with her Corned Beef and Cabbage Kibbeh ($12 for two). This Kibbeh combines roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes, cooked Quinoa, Red Onion, roasted Corned Beef, Napa Cabbage and Chives, lightly dusted in Potato Starch, shaped into footballs, deep fried and are served warm.
