Preston Straus Leads Austin's A CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, Full Cast

ZACH Theatre is proud to announce the cast for the Austin premiere of the Tony Award ® Winning play, A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Based on the novel by Marc Haddon and adapted by Simon Stephens, A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time plays on stage in ZACH's Topfer Theatre, January 31 - March 4, 2018 with direction by Producing Artistic Director Dave Steakley.

As the first regional theatre in Texas to produce A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Dave Steakley explains his excitement for bringing this piece to Austin,"Curious Incident is one of the most inventive, theatrical plays to emerge in recent years and it presents the opportunity to create unique scenic and projection designs matched with a physical storytelling which engages the whole company. I was captivated by the imagination employed in the production I saw in London where I saw it, and I want our audience to experience this phenomenal work and be swept into Christopher's world in a way that is memorable for its' full immersion into a character's perspective."

The cast includes PRESTON STRAUS as Christopher Boone; NICK STEVENSON as Ed Boone; KATIE KOHLER as Siobhan; MEREDITH MCCALL as Judy Boone; Lara Wright as Woman 1; ELISE OGDEN as Woman 2; ANDRÉ MARTIN as Man 1; and DAVE YAKUBIK as Man 2.

Directed by Dave Steakley the production team also includes, STEPHANIE BUSING as Scenic and Projection Designer, EMILY GILARDI as Costume Designer, SERRET JENSEN as Hair and Makeup Designer, RACHEL ATKINSON as Lighting Designer with CRAIG BROCK as Sound Designer, and STEVE BAGLIO as Properties Designer.AMANDA COOLEY DAVIS as Dialect Coach, TOBY MINOR as Fight Choreography, HUNTER REGIAN as Movement Coach, COLLEEN DOYLE as Animal Supervisor, and CATHERINE ANNE TUCKER as Stage Manager.

Winner of the 2015 Tony Award ® for Best New Play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a "dazzling, pulse-pounding and remarkable" (Time Out New York) adaptation of Mark Haddon's internationally best-selling novel. Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain and is very gifted at math. He is exceptionally intelligent, but unfortunately ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing the neighbor's dog, Christopher is determined to identify the culprit in true Sherlock Holmes style, which leads him on a thrilling journey across London that will change his life forever. ZACH's production will immerse you inside Christopher's world with physical storytelling and an extraordinary video design.
