Portland Musical Theater Variety Show to Host DIRTY DANCING Tour Cast

Portland professional theater company Cast Aside Productions will celebrate the 2nd birthday of their musical theater variety show, BOOZICAL THEATER NIGHT, by featuring members of the national touring cast of Dirty Dancing the Musical.

"A cast member reached out to us about performing on their day off before the sold out Portland Ovations show on January 4," said David Surkin, Artistic Director of CAP. "It's a great opportunity for people that may not have gotten tickets to experience the talents of this touring company."

Conceived in 2016 as a casual way for Maine-based Broadway fans to meet up, #Boozical is a free, monthly musical-theater-themed variety show held in downtown Portland's FLASK LOUNGE. Each production is completely unique, showcasing live performances based on themes like Miscast, Disney, and Naughty Night. Performers play trivia games such as "Thinkin' Patinkin," "Turn Back, Stroman," and "Finish That Lyric" to win audience members prizes. As part of the birthday celebration, CAP will be giving away special prizes this month, including season memberships to CAP's 2018 professional series, raffle entries for Hamilton tickets, and collectible musical theater memorabilia.
