The beloved children's classic Dr. Seuss' The Cat In The Hat comes to life on stage at Playhouse on Park from June 3-11! Tickets are on sale now.

Dr. Seuss' The Cat In The Hat is part of the Young Audience Series at Playhouse on Park, sponsored by the Miracle League of CT. From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat In The Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and craziest of ideas, he is certainly fun to play with as he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure. Based on the book by Dr. Seuss, and originally produced by The National Theatre of Great Britain, Dr. Seuss's The Cat In The Hat is a lively, engaging "play with sound effects" for young children. Not a word has been touched or added to Dr. Seuss's classic, ensuring anyone who's read the story will find themselves transported into the world they've always imagined.

Professional actors bring this story to life! Starring in this production are: Ryan J. Taylor as Cat, Rachel Brudner as Sally, Jared Starkey as Boy, Anna Marie Russell as Thing, Olivia Welch as Thing, and Eric McKinley as Fish.

Additionally, The Miracle League of CT is partnering Playhouse on Park in presenting two special sensory-friendly performances of The Cat In The Hat on Friday, May 26 at 10am, and Saturday, June 3 at 10am. All tickets will be specially priced at $5 for these performances only, all seats reserved. The Miracle League of CT offers opportunities for children with sensory issues and other special needs to enjoy educational and cultural activities. The Miracle League of CT is, additionally, the official and Primary Sponsor for Playhouse on Park's 2016-2017 Young Audience Series.

In conjunction with this upcoming production, Playhouse on Park is hosting a book drive to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford, a fellow private non-profit organization. The LVGH has provided adult literacy services to the Greater Hartford community since 1972 with cutting edge, student-centered, technology enriched programs teaching nearly 1,000 adults each year the reading and writing, English proficiency, math, high school completion, citizenship, and job readiness skills they need to succeed. Their most used book with students is the Oxford Monolingual Picture Dictionary. Please visit www.playhouseonpark.org for a complete list of books needed by the LVGH.

The Cat In The Hat runs June 3-June 11. Show times are Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm & 4pm, and Wednesdays at 10am & 2:30pm. Tickets range from $16-$18 each, all seats reserved.
