The Birdland Theater hosted two-time Tony-nominated Broadway songwriter and performer Amanda Green with another one of her monthly shows. Amanda brought exuberant wit and hilarious banter in an evening of her funny and moving songs, including special previews of her up and coming shows. Amanda was joined by special guest stars Kelli Barrett, Julia Murney, Ariana DeBose, Nancy Opel and Howard McGillin. Musical direction was Annbritt duChateau.
Amanda is a two-time Tony-Award nominated lyricist-composer. She is currently writing lyrics for a new musical with Billy Crystal and Jason Robert Brown and Female Troubles, an original musical comedy conceived by Amanda & composer Curtis Moore. Broadway: On The Twentieth Century Revival starring Kristin Chenoweth (Additional Lyrics); Bring It On, Co-Lyricist, w/ Lin Manuel Miranda; Nominated for Tony Award Best Musical, Drama Desk Award, Lyrics. As a performer, Amanda has appeared in concerts everywhere from Carnegie Hall to Birdland, Joe's Pub, 54 Below et al. and has received 2 MAC Awards and a BISTRO Award.
