Merchant's House Museum Announces Valentine's Exhibition and Concert

Exhibition: 19th-Century Valentines: Confections of Affection
Dates: Thursday, January 27, through Monday, February 28
Time: 12 to 5 p.m.
Location: Merchant's House Museum, 29 East Fourth Street (btwn Lafayette & Bowery)
Description: Ornate and extravagant lace paper valentines reached their zenith during the second half of the 19th century. See examples of handmade Valentine cards from the Museum's collection, as well as early manufactured cards. Included with regular admission: $10, $5 Student & Seniors, MHM Members free. Reservations not required.

Love in the Parlors: A Valentine in Concert
Date: Monday, February 14 (snow date Thursday, February 17)
Time: 7 pm

Description: A 75 minute program of romantic songs and arias by 19th-century composers performed in the Museum's Greek Revival double parlors by members of the Bond Street Euterpean Singing Society: Anthony Bellov, Rosalind Gnatt, Jane Rady, Dayle Vander Sande.
