Maine State Music Theatre Elects New Board Of Trustee Members

Maine State Music Theatre elected five new members to their board of trustees during their annual meeting. Katherine Greason, Peter O'Donnell, Deborah Peet, Brad Sevaldson, and Elena D. Vandervoort joined the 22-member board for two-year terms.

Greason is a recently retired attorney who worked in the Maine Office of the Attorney General for thirty years and the Central Maine Power Company for eight years. A Brunswick native, she happily moved back to town in 2016 after her long career in Augusta. She has been on the Board of Directors of Crisis and Counseling Services and the Board of Directors of Pine Tree Legal Assistance. A barbershop singer, she directs a women's chorus in Augusta, and is part of the International Contest and Judging Committee of Harmony, Inc, a nonprofit devoted to performance and education in the barbershop style of singing. She is an associate member of the Brunswick Zoning Board of Appeals.

A Portland resident, O'Donnell is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. He has served as a Portland City Councilor from 1988-1994 and from 2000-2005, and was Mayor of Portland in 1990-1991. He was a Group Home Administrator, the Regional Systems Director of the ME Department of Behavioral and Developmental Services, and the Executive Director of the Portland West Social Service Agency.

Peet has worked as a school counselor for MSAD 22 and also had an active career in the retail industry as owner of the Ski Rack in Bangor, which she co-owned with her son Jason until 2013 when he took over the business. Her daughter owns Hatch on Maine street in Brunswick, where Deb fills in and also refurbishes furniture to sell in the shop.

A native of Minnesota, Sevaldson has been a life-long retail professional. As an avocational professional clown, he was a member and officer of the Cracker Jack Clown Alley and a member of world and national clown organizations. He and his partner now own Birch on Wiscasset's Main Street.

Vandervoort was raised in Maine and worked at the Fogg Art Museum of Harvard University. She has been a trustee of the Maine Maritime Museum (and is now Trustee Emeritus), a trustee of Sagadahoc Preservation, a Board member of National Trust Main Street Program in Bath and then its president, and has served almost every position in the Small Point Club and Small Point Operating Company. She is a Corporator of Bath Savings Institution and of Mid Coast-Parkview Hospital.
